Re: Please help - need your advice!
snoregirl, that worked. I asked what was on the Rx, and didn't have any changes to suggest. They are mailing it to me, along with a copy of my sleep study (I already have a copy for myself--posted it on another thread). I'm going to call around some DME in my medical plan and see if I can find a nic...

Re: Looking for empathy!! Nasal congestion
That is a great question. 1) I don't want to take any benzodiazepines (sedatives) prior/with surgery as I was once addicted. 2) Since I don't/can't mouth breathe at night i must breathe thru my nose or not sleep at all. 3) the recovery requires some time being congested and not nose breathing so i ...

What's your objection to surgery?
I had very similar symptoms and surgery did the trick for me. Don't regret doing it one bit, even though in my case, I had to re-do it about a year later. Totally worth it being able to breath at night. I hate mouth breathing.

Re: Is it true that I can access and change settings...
What works best for most is to gatekeep the doctor and their cranky assistants away from your treatment and take control of it for yourself. Yes, that's the impression I'm getting from reading the posts on this board. This can be quite an overwhelming experience, and I've been trying to attend to t...

of a "full data" machine, even if the RT doesn't open access for me to it? One of the wisdom articles mentions getting access written into the prescription. If I can get the directions about that here, then that's one less thing I have to bring up with the dr (or more accurately, her gatekeeping, cr...

I'm not clear on whether you're ready to quit working with Chris. Are you ready to fire him? How about your doctor? You have to decide this and then it will be easier for you to see your best path and get specific wordings from us here. If it were me, based on your description, I wouldn't work with ...

Survey is flawed; cannot answer it.
The correct answer, as most people already know and have stated, is it very highly depends on context.
So little in life is "black & white". That's one reason why I love my avatar.
Maybe I'll change my handle to Queen of Ambiguity.

I have read HIPAA. (I'm in a field where I need to be familiar with it.) My understanding is while I am entitled to my health information and does not include a prescriptions written in 'dispense upon presentation of this slip of paper' form. If I am incorrect, I would gladly review the relevant cit...

Re: Please help - need your advice!
What if the dr's assistant doesn't want to send the Rx to me? I don't like getting all tough and demanding "you have to according to -----"...Being stressed out is keeping me from coming up with nicer wordings. What words of persuasion worked for you? If it comes to it, though, what goes in place o...

Please help - need your advice!
Sleep dr's assistant called back to say they could just fax in a prescription for me. She recommended a company called Reliable Medical. I have to do 3-4 weeks with an APAP machine, to figure out what pressure I need. The Rx will be written "machine and mask of patient's choice". I asked if she knew...
