Re: Time to Hold Sleep Doctors, DMEs and Sleep Labs Accountable
I think being able to have recommendations from other people that have sleep apnea is a great idea. One place to go to check out all available doctors. I wish I would have had something like this when I first started looking for doctors to treat my OSA. I was wondering if it includes DME's? I could ...

Re: Talk to me about APAPs
I have a ResMed S8 Autoset II, and love it. I have the EPR set at 2 and run it on auto with the settings at 8-12.I do have the software and like being able to read the detailed graphs, the summary graphs, etc. I read the LED data each morning just to make sure my numbers are good. I use the humidifi...

Re: OT I had a triple bypass yesterday.(complete)
Great accomplishment! We also live in Colorado, my husband has done a lot of mountain trail running. He was wondering how you manage to drag your CPAP along on the overnight outdoor adventures. I am sorry if you have already answered this question, I am new to the forum. Thanks, and keep on keepin' ...

Re: CPAP Support Pillow?
I bought the Oxygen Pillow. I know how horribly expensive it is....I mean who in their right mind spends that much for a pillow? I bought it knowing that if it wasn't what worked for me I could return it. I used it for about 4 days before I decided to keep it. It isn't a big dramatic difference from...

Re: CPAP Support Pillow?
Did you find that the buckwheat pillow was "noisy"? I used one once and every time I turned over the sound was awful, but I imagine they have impoved the pillow since it first came out.

Re: camping with CPAP
We are going camping at the end of the month as well, so I appreciate your post. Is this machine a self-contained battery? Is it expensive?

Re: CPAP Support Pillow?
I know, it is super, crazy expensive. I only ( ) paid about $140-ish for it. I justified the cost because I have my head on it for 7-8 hours every night of my life so it should be something that was a good quality product. I also have neck and shoulder problems and this pillow seems to help. I had t...

Re: I can do this now because of cpap. How about you?
I started working out again in the mornings 5 days a week, I don't automatically drop into the chair in front of the TV after work.
Great cake....almost a shame to eat it! Happy birthday to your little man.

HI vs AI?
I am a newbie and as I understand it AI refers to the number of apneas per hour and a good number is under 1.0. HI is the number of partial hypopneas per hour and a good number is under 2.4. I have been on OSA therapy since early April. I write down the readings from my LED screen most mornings, so ...

Re: CPAP Support Pillow?
I use The Oxygen Pillow made for sleep apnea. It looks like a regular pillow but on the inside it has a hole for your head ,and the sides have slits so the pillow pulls away from your face.It very subtly rolls your head out. It doesn't have that foam/plastic smell either. I use a Swift LT for Her wi...

Great article! I always felt like OSA was my "punishment" for being 40 pounds overweight.

Re: Questions for those with asthma
I was recently diagnosed with asthma. I am fortunate to go to Natl Jewish Hospital in Denver which is known for asthma research and treatment. I was given Asthmanex, which is an inhaled steroid powder which I use in the am. Then I have Proventil with a spacer to use for emergencies. I now know why I...

Re: Nexium
I have GERD and have taken Nexium for 4 years. If I miss a dose in the am I am in serious pain by 10:00 am. I would like to switch to something else, but am sort of scared to try. I don't have hip or joint pain. What else would be the same as Nexium without the side effects? Thanks for the info thou...
