Re: Anyone using Provigil or Nuvigil?
I take Provigil on occasion. I try not to use it everyday as i don't want to become addicted or anything like that...but just for those days when no matter what it feels like I didn't get anywhere near enough sleep and I'm falling asleep in my office. So I take one at 200mg and it helps immensely. I...

Re: Whisper cap?
Well darn I was hoping something like this would work better because just last night I was thinking how loud my machine was and even my hubby was commenting on it. He said it definitely quieter than my snoring but louder than he expected, louder than I expected. I won't be buying the whisper cap I g...

Re: New pressure...up 5cm...no new APAP :(
Next time you go to the Doctor, ask to look in the hat they pull the patient pressure numbers out of, just to make sure your treatment isn't rigged. A doctor changing your pressure by 5 cm at your next visit is a sure sign they don't have a clue. You need a data capable XPAP and the software and re...

Re: Insurance paying for card reader and software???
cpap.com will price match other legitimate CPAP websites. $54 for the software and card reader sounds awfully cheap, though. Thanks for letting me know they will pricematch!! I didn't know if I could post another website on here to say where I saw the $54 (oh and it's for the card reader only, sorr...

Re: Insurance paying for card reader and software???
you want it? PAY FOR IT YOURSELF!!! God. Gosh, I didn't want anyone to be harsh with me. I would pay for it myself but find that I can barely afford my utility bills much less something extra (we never have extras in my house because we just don't have the money). I thought that maybe, just maybe, ...

Re: Insurance paying for card reader and software???
Well I knew it wouldn't happen but a girl sure can hope can't she. My DME really isn't even going to look into whether or not my insurance will cover one because he says that they have never covered one before (not my specific insurance but insurance in general) and he's actually never had a patient...

New pressure...up 5cm...no new APAP :(
I really was hoping I'd get a new APAP but the dr said that they are going to try me at the new pressure of 12cm for a few weeks and then when I go to see her on Aug 12 we will determine if I need a fluctuating pressure or a higher constant pressure. The nurse said that I did fluctuate throughout th...

Re: Insurance paying for card reader and software???
I highly doubt it will happen, I don't exactly have the best insurance in the world...but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Thanks!

Insurance paying for card reader and software???
Has anyone ever had their insurance company pay for something like EncoreViewer software and USB card reader? Before I call my DME and sound like a complete moron for even asking I thought I'd ask here first. I know I could get reimbursed from my FSA (unfortunately I have none of that left after my ...

Re: AutoPAP pressure of 15 vs. CPAP pressure of 7???
Something I notice nobody has mentioned so far. For some of us high pressures result in central apneas which cannot be resolved by CPAP or APAP. In addition, I understand that there can be a tendency to start having centrals at a pressure over 10-ish for some people (apparently not the majority). W...

Re: AutoPAP pressure of 15 vs. CPAP pressure of 7???
Well after 3 nights on the APAP and 1 night back on the CPAP I can certainly notice a difference. I woke up (well it was hard to wake up this morning) feeling exhausted. I definitely need be on the higher pressure! So now I'm just waiting on a call from the nurse at my dr's office to tell me whether...

Re: New sleep study required???
AFLEX was on for my last night and it was MUCH better!! I could notice the difference when exhaling. I used CFLEX to start with when I first starting using nasal pillows and it helped for a few nights until I got used to the pressure and then it was more of a hindrance than a help...so with that bei...

Re: New sleep study required???
I could definitely feel the difference when I was TRYING to breathe last night. Heather, is A-Flex turned on, or did they set it for just C-Flex? Everyone's different, but for me, A-Flex makes breathing feel a lot more natural than does just C-Flex. I like A-Flex at 3 for the most exhalation pressu...

Re: Cotton Mouth on waking
If you figure out how to get rid of this let me know! I had the problem at first on a lower pressure (7cm) and decreased my humidifier (I know that sounds strange but it worked). Now that I'm trying out an APAP loaner from my dr's office with much higher pressures (approx. 15cm) I've found the past ...
