Re: Swift LT and pain throughout the night
Thank you for the replies. Tonight and tomorrow I'll try both the smaller and larger pillows and adjusting the back strap to loosen it a bit more. It also happens my wife just finished breast feeding our 1 yr old so I happen to have some Lansinoh as well! I'll try that tonight too. I'll also try the...

Swift LT and pain throughout the night
Hi all. I've only been on CPAP for four days but I'm having a problem I can't seem to fix. I fit my Swift LT perfectly the first night I wore it... had absolutely no problems with leaks, comfort or keeping it on all night. It seems that was just luck, however. On nights 2, 3 and now 4, I've woken up...

Re: Mask Price !!!!!!!!!!
I was thinking the DME would fit me and maybe even exchange it if I don’t like the first one. I found the exact opposite. All five of my local DME's would NOT exchange the mask under any circumstances... Their policy is once you walk out with one, it's yours - they say due to contamination. Makes t...

Re: Mask Price !!!!!!!!!!
My DME quoted me $380 for a Swift Lt for her. I'm only covered for one mask a year. I bought one at amazon last week for $89.00USD (plus an insane $45 shipping fee but still....way cheaper) Last week I ordered the Swift LT (not "for her" model) from cpap.com and it was $105 US ($116 CAN), but as re...

Re: DeVilbiss Intellipap questions
I noticed reading my IntelliPAP Auto manual that there are indeed part numbers for the pulse oximeter that will work with the machine, however its not specified how you order this accessory equipment or what brand/model this equipment specifically is. Here is the relevant part of my manual: http://i...

Re: Insurance refused on CPAP shipped to Canada: help please
Thank you all for the excellent feedback on this problem. I thought I'd update this thread with the latest: I ended up calling the union first to see what they'd have to say. Unfortunately, they were of no help as they would only arbitrate if it was a "systemic" problem (however they define that - I...

Re: What will SmartLink data tell me?
I think it may have to do with some of the default system encodings, or system fonts.... snip... You might want to look in to installing VirtualBox on your machine. Its a free Virtual Machine that allows you to install another operating system (or copy of your existing OS) that runs directly from t...

Re: Insurance refused on CPAP shipped to Canada: help please
Have you tried escalating your request with your insurer? Often, the grunts on the telephone lines are poorly trained. As well, is there a complaint mechanism with your insurer that you could try? Can you change insurers? Ask if they will pay for used equipment that is purchased locally. There are ...

Re: Insurance refused on CPAP shipped to Canada: help please
There are others here who experience this seemingly insane stand by the insurance company. It is very similar in the USA. To make some sense out of this, this is what I speculate is actually happening... I bet you are dead on. There simply has to be some behind the scenes structure thats in place s...

Re: Insurance refused on CPAP shipped to Canada: help please
What does your coverage information say? You would have gotten that when you enrolled, and likely have gotten it annually since then. Is there something like Ontario's ADP that might help? I have no idea if ADP would've covered mine, anyway. You might also want to check out of you have a flexible s...

Re: Insurance refused on CPAP shipped to Canada: help please
NEWSFLASH: Things have different costs around the world! For whatever reason and whether it's "fair" or not. Gee, you think? If we were talking about the difference in currency here (and some markup for the extra shipping, etc), well that of course I have no problem with. We're not. We're talking a...

Insurance refused on CPAP shipped to Canada: help please
Hi all. New to the forum but have been lurking the past few days soaking up all the great information here. Seems like a very helpful and cohesive community. I live in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada and have recently been dx with apnea (75 AHIs/hr). I'm sure I've had it for most of my adult life...
