Re: New sleep test because of Medicare
My husband needs to have his cpap replaced. He is on Medicare. The provider says Medicare requires a new sleep study. The sleep apt is in Dec. during his busy season at work. I was able to have the sleep study changed to him sleeping with a smart watch "sleep study". He did Thursday. Medicare said t...

Problem with my Fisher Paykel Icon
I have been finding my cpap on at bedtime. At first I thought I was forgetting to turn it off. I made sure I turned it off, but several days later it was on again. Then I thought maybe my water bottle I keep on the night stand could hit the button and turn it on. I tried pushing the bottle into the ...

full face mask slides up during night
My husband just started using Respironics ComfortGel Blue Full Face Mask . This is his first full face. During the first 2 nights the mask has been sliding up his face uncovering his mouth. He then opens his mouth letting a large volume of air escape. Any ideas on how to prevent the mask from riding...

Re: OT: Vitamin D levels a question or two
D3 is more easily absorpted. Your DR ordered D2. Maybe you would better tolerate the D3. When my DR ordered 50,000IU of D2 I bought 50,000 IU of D3 at http://www.vitalady.com Vitamin D3 is dry powder in a capsule, vitamin D2 in in oil in a capsule. Here is the D3: http://www.vitalady.com/cgi-bin/com...

Re: Wondering how many use their ramp????
My husband and I do not use the ramp. We both feel like we are suffocating during the ramp. We both just got new machines and had to argue with two different providers who insisted on setting the ramp. We explained that we needed control over the ramp setting because as soon as we get our hot little...

I can hear a slight whistling noise when breathing. It's very quiet, my husband can not hear it. Does this mean I do not have it fitted correctly?

Airline travel with CPAP
Okay I have read the posts about removing my CPAP from it case, placing it in a clear plastic bag, then into a plastic bin for the xray scanner. I'm not thrilled about placing our two CPAP machines on the conveyor belt. But I am really worried about the TSA personnel breaking my new machine. My husb...

Re: Medical ID Tags
I use medic alert necklace, I wear it all the time. It has an ID number that the hospital/doctor can used to get additional information that I update as needed. I list all my medications, health record, allergies. I can update the info on their website. If there is an emergency medic alert will cont...

Re: cleaning hoses
I'm curious has anyone ever heard of someone getting ill from not cleaning their hose or mask. I would be uncomfortable with leaving the same water even distilled water in the tank for an extended period of time due to fungus growth. Does bacteria grow in the tube? What are the dangers; the facts? G...
