Re: BIG UPDATE: NEW RESPIRONICS PR Series Auto CPAP Released!
I haven't read all the responses so I may be repeating. I was at an AWAKE meeting on Wednesday evening. Suppliers attended(Respironics, Resmed, Fischer-Paykel and another one that begins with a "C".) Two of the things that stood out are: 1. Most are now wireless meaning your provider can access your...

Re: OT: Losing a Parent
Kiralynx, Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. It's been almost 3 years since I received the call that my mother was actively dying. I didn't receive my call soon enough in my mind. She died less than 30 minutes after I arrived. Hospice missed the signs the day previous or I would have stayed. She m...

Re: OT: Test Results
Congratulations on your results. As an 18 month bladder cancer survivor who undergoes exams every 3 months I know what a relief it is to have those negative results. With all the responses you've had you must know how valuable you are to this board and how much we appreciate all your help. Have fun ...

Drums
Anyone have a spouse complain about a drum sound coming from CPAP machine? Husband heard it after I went to sleep. Even plugged his ears and still heard it. Said it was an even beat ? Wasn't there this morning.

A-flex not automatic
Anyone else have this problem? Usually within seconds after I connect the hose to my mask I begin to get air immediately. I was REALLY sleepy last night and went went to sleep immediately. I woke up 3 hours later to find the machine had not kicked on. I think it happened once before but I was still ...

Re: AHI Down Leak Rate up
Read "All Our Wisdom" section on masks and think I'm compliant. Got out my instruction booklet and guess what? I'm under the vent flow rate for a setting of 11-12. Flow for a pressure of 12 is 40 unless I'm misunderstanding something.

AHI Down Leak Rate up
Last week my doc took my pressure off flex because the computer wasn't going over 9. This morning my AHI is 5.2 and leak rate is 33.8. Previously my AHI was bouncing in 8+ with an occasional 7+ and leak rate bounced between 24+-25+. Is this normal? I don't care how much it leaks as long as AHI keeps...

Re: Finally got my AHI under control
Does anyone know if "CPAP" bed pillows help AHI? Dr. Just took me off flex yesterday because computer never seemed to reach high of 11. I'm anxious to see if that helps because my AHI has been running in the 7-8 range. I'm using a contour and I try to sleep on the edge.

Re: Quattro users - how do you clean your mask?
According to http://www.myresmed.com/MyResMed/page.do?requestedPage=0839efd2be77d010VgnVCMServerc60210acRCRD It is recommended that vinegar solutions not be used on the cushion. I use Ivory cake soap to wash my face and if I feel the cushion needs cleaning I put a little on a wash cloth and run it o...

Re: Leg cramps.... Why now?
Are you sure these are cramps and not restless legs? If it's restless legs you need to see a neurologist.
Whatever I hope you're able soon to sleep all night.

Re: mirage Quartro full face mask
I sleep on my side but being a mouth breather I was having problems because when my jaw dropped the mask no longer fit properly. On another thread I read about this and it has helped me. I roll two hand towels together by laying one flat and laying the second one on the end of the first before rolli...

Re: AHI increase
WOW, Ladybug. CHANGE seems to be the operative word. One week ago when AHI was at 5+ I woke up with a wet face so moved the setting on humidifier from 2 to 1. I changed it back to 2 last night. I evidently have a raging case of sciatica which is making mega discomfort in my hip. I've been reducing m...
