Re: CPAP usage restrictions in Hospital

ATTENTION: Stay on topic and the topic isn't the promotion of anti vaccination bullshit in case anyone is wondering. Believe whatever misinformation you want to believe but keep it to yourself. Take that sort of talk elsewhere. It's not welcome here. Getting the vaccine does NOT void someone's insur...

Re: Non-mouth breather suddenly has dry mouth with new APAP

In this situation....S9 to AirSense ...not changing brands. I didn't understand if the 7.2 on the S9 was fixed or not but if it had been me and going to auto from fixed (and staying in same brand) I wouldn't be hard nosed about the "one change at a time" thing. Without seeing what all the 7.2 result...

Re: How is my wife doing based upon these two screenshots from OSCAR

More humidity can also reduce congestion. Setting of 4 is very middle of the road. If a hot steamy shower helps her breathe better for a little while....then if wanting to experiment I would increase humidity a bit as first experiment. My nose is happiest with max humidity. Julie doesn't seem to nee...

Re: AHI comparison to home sleep study results

Are you sure Respiratory Index???
Is it maybe RI and someone assumed Respiratory Index??

ResMed's ApneaLink home sleep study reports do use RI term but it is Risk Indicator.

see what I said here

Re: Phantom? Chemical Smell

I know the odds are slim but I would get a Covid taste just as a precaution. Weird sense of smell or loss of and/or taste....symptoms of Covid. That said there are other health conditions that mess with the sense of smell and we all know that smell and taste are intertwined and if this continues I w...

Re: Phantom? Chemical Smell

I would take it back. Tell them it stinks and it wasn't new anyway. There's a reason it was returned to them with 5K hours on it. Don't let the DME succeed in pulling a fast one on you. Way too many hours to be sold as new. Medicare paid the "new machine" price....not the used machine price and it i...

Re: Time zone on Airsense 11

None of these machines have any way to automatically adjust for DST in the spring or fall. DST isn't used in all 50 states for one thing and these machines go world wide where DST isn't used. In the past ResMed machines there was a clock that could be set but no time zone adjustment at all. There is...

Re: Non-mouth breather suddenly has dry mouth with new APAP

It takes very little mouth breathing to cause dry mouth....as little as 5 or 10 minutes can do it for me. Also medication side effects and/or other health issues can impact the hydration of the mouth. Is it possible at the addition of humidified air caused some nasal congestion that might have cause...

Re: Time zone on Airsense 11

Time slept is time slept no matter what the clock time might be showing in the software reports but if you want to know exactly when something happened for some reason then the machine clock needs to be set to your correct time. Also if you ever sleep past noon (per the machine clock) you might see ...

Re: Phantom? Chemical Smell

I recently learned that I can check the number of hour this machine has been used. I found that it had over 5000 hrs when I got it. I thought I was getting a new machiine??? Where are you located? Is this a short term trial/rental and then you buy your machine or was this machine sold to you as new...

Re: large leaks -- when to worry

Ever think that maybe whatever was causing the machine to want to go to 15 might have been a factor in the wake up? Maybe some sort of airway obstruction caused the arousal and then you woke up and realized where the pressure was at??? Something to think about. Might look closely at the flow rate pr...

Re: OSCAR 1.3.0 is released 10/17/2021

Just installed 1.3.
Easy peasy....final step was the alert it gave me that it needed to update my database which means it wanted to pull in the data from version 1.2. Didn't take all that long and no hiccups.

Re: pressure difference with new mask?

My question is this - currently my cpap pressure is set to 9 -12. If I was to venture in trying a nasal mask, would my pressure settings need to be adjusted? No not really any need to adjust anything except mask type setting (and even that isn't the end of the world if you forget). For sure not an ...
