Are you experiencing any nasal congestion at night?
Seems to be an ongoing problem with me.
Is it a new problem since starting cpap or a chronic long term situation?

Are you using the cpap humidifier? If so, at what setting?

Re: Travel Options for Central Sleep Apnea?! BIPAP?

I was looking at the Resmed Airmini, it’s not Bipap, but can be set up with a lower pressure when breathing out. Yes, the AirMini has EPR available for lowering the pressure upon exhale. It's limited to a maximum of a 3 cm reduction....and it's fixed and thus can't increase to force you to breathe ...

Re: Do I need BiPAP?

Lose the calendar please. It's in the way. More pressure isn't going to help with those CAs/centrals. I don't see enough OAs/hyponeas happening to warrant more pressure (especially since more pressure causes aerophagia) so I don't see the need for more pressure at this time. I guess you missed this....

Re: Transitioning to Resmed N30i

The nasal cones in the large P10i insert can't enter my nose (they flatten out) but the medium sized cones might because they are smaller. You still think that the nasal pillows actually fit inside the nose? You trying to cram the entire pillow including the rim (which is suppose to rest against th...

Re: Travel Options for Central Sleep Apnea?! BIPAP?

Have you found a tiny/travel size machine that has bilevel capabilities?

There are no bilevel machines that will do what the ASV does to deal with your central apneas.

Re: Transitioning to Resmed N30i

The P10's nozzles (if you can get used to them) extend into your nasal passages halfway up to your brain. Their protrusion into your nose provides the alignment that maintains air seal. They aren't "nozzles"...they are called nasal pillows....The P10. And you don't really think that they "reach hal...

Re: Helping my mother with CPAP

so I don't know about CPAP and Medicare and the nuances of that. We are inside 30 days, does anyone know the process of changing your DME if you have Medicare? Process hasn't changed. You can change DMEs at any time you wish. You can fire Rotech at any time...but it might be easier to do it now. It...

Re: Helping my mother with CPAP

I have always been able to exchange masks as often as necessary if it's inside 30 days. Has something changed? Her insurance is Medicare / Humana. Here's the deal with masks and insurance and DMEs. Insurance only pays for one mask or piece of equipment per the replacement allowance schedule and tha...

Re: Looking for advice - Tired, Morning Headaches, etc.

More pressure is never going to reduce those CAs/centrals. More pressure will help reduce OAs and hyponeas that are obstructive in nature when a person is actually asleep. The bulk of your AHI is central but the bulk of those centrals are post awake/arousal flagged events. You weren't sound asleep w...

Any doctor can order an echocardiogram test. Doesn't have to be a cardiologist.
The ejection rate is what potential ASV users need to look at.

http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t158560/How-to-post-images-for-review.html Please post your images in a little different format. The way you have it now makes it difficult what with some graphs too tiny to evaluate plus graphs that aren't needed. See above. Is there a way to see sleep phase in OSC...

Re: Hitting Max Pressure With Controlled AHI Question

Were you for sure sound asleep when those centrals/CAs were flagged? Do you know how to tell the difference between asleep and awake/arousal breathing? If EPR is for sure the cause of more centrals (I am not so sure just yet) then you can try increasing the minimum pressure just a little bit and see...

Re: Hitting Max Pressure With Controlled AHI Question

Are you having any nasal congestion during the night? If not.....try increasing your EPR to 3 and see what those flow limitations look like with more pressure support maybe helping out. If you are having much nasal congestion we have a different discussion. Though your flow limitations aren't horrib...
