Do the girlfriend a favor and dump her now. Save her wasting her time on a whiner.

If I didn't know better I would say my husband is behind the Rooster name. His sense of humor is sooooo much like yours. Never a dull moment.

Re: DME/Insurance giving me an IntelliPap -- Thoughts?
Will you be satisfied with compliance only? I would try another DME and at least try for CPAP that will give you data capabilities. You may not "need" the auto unit but if you read my story you can see how APAP helped me get improvement fairly quickly as opposed to flying blind with no data. I canno...

Re: Sleep architecture question
Thanks Hawthorne, Yes, I know not to fall in love with the Ambien but this is the first time I have ever in my life taken any sort of sleep aid. We will use it to help me possibly break my frequent arousal pattern that appears to be an unwanted symptom from other issues (first suspect discomfort fro...

Re: Sleep architecture question
Thanks Wulfman, I was able to digest most of what was said. I am a rather detail oriented person and I just like to try to understand as much as possible how these things are intertwined. I have done some other reading and from what I gathered the magic less than 5 arousals (from whatever cause) per...

Did that "generous" quote include the humidifier? If not, cpap.com looks stellar.doctorhoffy wrote:I've negotiated the DME company up to a Remstar Pro M Series (they wanted to give me a PLUS, but I told them I wouldn't be interested in that). My cost (50%) looks like it will be about $525 for 12 months.

Re: DME/Insurance giving me an IntelliPap -- Thoughts?
Why will your insurance provider not reimburse if you purchase elsewhere as long as you have the proper insurance form filled out? Even Medicare allows for reimbursement as long as proper completed insurance forms are submitted. Cpap.com furnishes insurance forms. I got one with my software purchase...

Re: I'm about to have "one of those conversations" with my DME!
How do you get past the argument "your insurance will only cover these machines?" Your insurance will pay for whatever your doctor prescribes. To confirm it go directly to your insurance carrier. If your prescription allows leeway in your personal choice then that is also what the doctor prescribes...

Sleep architecture question
My DME gave me a copy of dictation regarding my sleep study. I haven't seen doctor yet to get a chance to ask for the entire reports. My question is how do we factor in arousals and awakenings into the overall scheme of things? Obviously less is better but what is considered normal? I will copy what...

Congrats and a big round of applause for your success. That is why that ramp feature is there for people to use to help get adjusted to the pressure. And yes, sure wouldn't hurt to give the FF mask a try. You might like it better. Dry mouth more than usual may indicate mouth leaks or mouth breathing...

Re: O.T. sleep doc and others owe me money
We would think that these doctors offices could use a bit of common sense but they don't. In this day and age you would think that if Ins A pays leaving Ins B to pick up the copay but the patient has already paid the copay oops, patient should have a credit balance. Pretty simple math and in the cli...

Ahh, so cute. Thank you for sharing. They do grow up so fast. Seems like only last week that I was taking care of my newborn grandson. He is coming to spend 3 weeks with me next week. He just turned 7. Time does fly.

Re: O.T. sleep doc and others owe me money
To Kathy: Which supplemental coverage and which primary? Medicare by any chance? If so PM me and I will explain the ins and outs. BUT in general if we all took the time to look at the tiny fine print on financial obligation page we all have to sign at the doctor's office or hospital we will see that...
