Re: HELP! Cpap.com can't ship Resmed Products to Canada

Just spoke with my DME - they say there's no issue with getting ResMed products in Canada, they are receiving shipments and have heard nothing about ResMed discontinuing shipments to Canada. basically what Julie said, sorry maybe I wasn't clear in my original post.... I believe RESMED themselves ar...

Re: HELP! Cpap.com can't ship Resmed Products to Canada

Fitdiculous, If it is only ResMed products that cannot be shipped you might want to try the Opus 360 mask. I preferred this to ResMeds mask as it is more comfortable and I have virtually no leaks. Good luck!! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll take a look into this. I just hate setting up appointments...

Re: HELP! Cpap.com can't ship Resmed Products to Canada

hmmm... all these suggestions certainly make sense, I guess I want to find the path of least resistance if it gets sent to someone I know in the US and they send it to me will I get taxed on it? or because it's still "medical equipment" it will be exempt? will customs care at all this is a RESMED pr...

Re: HELP! Cpap.com can't ship Resmed Products to Canada

You can buy Resmed equipment at Vitalaire in various places in Canada. It will cost a LOT more than in the U.S. but your insurance should pay as long as you only buy within their timeline - i.e. (examples, I don't know your insce. co's guidelines) a new machine every 5 yrs, new mask every 3-6 mos.,...

HELP! Cpap.com can't ship Resmed Products to Canada

Long story short I decided NOT to purchase the Swift LT mask from a local DME (they were charging $240CAD), I say long story short because there was some customer service issues I wasn't impressed with as well while I was going through getting my machine. Not knowingly, I was just trying to place an...

Re: Correct Prescription based on these figures?

I want to thank everyone for all their help, I'm re-posting my original (first) sleep test results with the second test (first titration) in bold - slept within 11.3 minutes and for 5 hours and 13 mins with efficiency of 72.4% (normal: >than 80%) -- slept within 1.6 minutes and slept for 6 hours and...

Re: Correct Prescription based on these figures?

well today I had an appointment with a local DME, and got a loaner machine/mask. Just a basic Fisher & Paykel 600 series and a Swift LT mask.... I wasn't shocked with the level of service when I got there... better than the last, but the whole appointment seemed rushed... seems like if I want the S8...

Re: Correct Prescription based on these figures?

My situation, straight from sleep doctor to the DME office was far less than ideal. Still reeling from the diagnosis of OSA, sleep deprived, and trying to figure out what OSA means, I was ushered into a DME who's motivation is $$$$. I had no say on which DME I wanted to use, and no time to consider...

Re: Correct Prescription based on these figures?

I actually have an appointment tomorrow with a different DME and I asked them if they provide loaner machines/masks, and to my surprise the person I was speaking to say they do! and of course at no extra charge... they MAY even be able to loan out a machine longer than a month (since I won't know t...

Re: Correct Prescription based on these figures?

no, have not had the first titration yet, only the very 1st sleep study to help diagnose the OSA. My first titration is scheduled for June 8th (3 weeks), but I have yet to get a machine yet (will 3 weeks be long enough to get "used" to one?) from the info that the sleep clinic told me it almost see...

Re: Correct Prescription based on these figures?

ozji: Makes sense... there really is no way of telling until the titration is there? one thing question that I forgot ask, if they do provide loaner machines, will I have to purchase that specific mask? I doubt they have or give out "loaner" masks too? (sanitary reasons?) I wouldn't want to be stuc...

Re: Correct Prescription based on these figures?

Hmmmm, Interesting. My 1st reaction is - sheesh - only 7 CMs to deal with an AHI over 60 !!!. But you don't seem excessively overweight (perhaps only a tad - having been heavier that that myself ) Yes, I would ask for an Auto - Just very hard to believe that 7 CMs can do anything but resuscitate a ...

Re: Correct Prescription based on these figures?

Hose_head: Thank you for your reply and in depth information... I never considered getting a loaner... I know the DME I went to said that they do have loaner's, but no apap loaners (or there is a ridiculous waiting list for one right now). To clear something up though... you mentioned that DURING th...
