Re: Tired and cranky from fighting with the mask

You sound like me. I have had many nights like yours. I've been on cpap now 3 months and Iv'e tried 6 masks. The mask you're on I tried but it felt heavy on my face. The one I now think I'm going to keep is the Comfort lite 2. My equipment store lets me exchange masks as long as I haven't kept it fo...

Re: HELLLLLLLLP!!!!

I am fairly new too. I am on mask #6. Don't get discouraged. My current mask is the best I've tried so far. I think it's normal for us to try many before we find the right one. .

Re: what is the treatment for RERAS?

Saw Dr. Phillips and she was great. A no nonsense kind of doctor and she spent plenty of time with me. She gave me so many ideas to help improve my sleep. Trying the first one tonight. She set my cpap from a 5 to a 9. She thought five was way too low.

Re: what is the treatment for RERAS?

Dear Rested Gal, Joy from Kentucky had told me about Dr. Phillips so I took her advice and made an appointment. It's about an hour and a half but its worth it for expert advice. I did have an ENT consult but the Dr. didn't think I was a good surgical candidate. I would have had to exhaust every othe...

Re: what is the treatment for RERAS?

Right now I have just a plain cpap with no data but compliance. I have an appt. with a new sleep doc(Dr. Barbara Phillips) tomorrow. The Dr. I am currently seeing has me on a straight cpap of 5. I kept telling them it's not working and their response was dental appliance or surgery. I've tried the a...

what is the treatment for RERAS?

I notice on my sleep studies I have Reras. I know they are respiratory events, but what is the treatment? Is the cpap suppose to treat it? I'm still waking frequently and looking for answers.

Re: Any Clues?

I have been doing cpap for 10 weeks now. Still I feel exhausted. I haven't had more than 2 hours sleep since I started. I keep my mask on all night every night. I will be seeing a new specialist in Lexington, Ky. on Tuesday. We have to take control of our treatment and when it's not working we have ...

what exactly is lanolish to be used

Newbie here. I have been using the mirage micro for 2 nights. Not too bad. Just trying to get a better seal. Can lanolish be used for that or is it for sore places only? I seem to have a little trouble with a leak near my eyes. 2 months now and still only about an hour or 2 at a time for sleep. I'm ...

Re: c pap virgin

Is the air that is escaping suppose to escape? Is it up by your nose? If it is air is suppose to come out there. It is there so you can exhale.

I prefer taping my mouth. Believe it or not it is more comfortable than a chin strap for me.

Re: I just figured out how to change my pressure

well I slept with my 6 last night. I forgot to say my level was 5 before. I think it was a little better. I slept in 2 hour intervals. I was able to go back to sleep pretty quickly. I think I'll try it on 6 a few more nights, then maybe a little higher and see if I can get more sleep in a row. I do ...

I just figured out how to change my pressure

My sleep doc wanted me to have another overnight study. I'm not sleeping more than 2 houors at a tin=me and my pressure is only straight cpap. A few people on the forum have thought that pressure was too low. My doc won't change it until I have another study. Last one was 6 weeks ago. That was my ti...

Re: Dental Appliance - does it work ?

I tried the dental appliance for 6 months. I was not successful because of the epiglottis involved too. I went to a prostadontist for mine. The cost was $1400. I heard the success rate was 80% for mild to moderate sleep apnea. My ENT doc said My upper airway would have been successfully treated with...

I'm still struggling as I'm only into this 6 weeks, but it was great to see what's in store for us newbies.
