Rethinking my opinion of my DME
WOW! I called today to get copies of my studies and my script and check on my supplies order. I told them I had the software and whatnot, and the lady asked me if I'd changed any settings. I was honest that I had, and explained my reasoning, and she was quite cool about it. She gave me the requisite...

Re: OT: ACE Inhibitor Cough
I also take the ACE inhibitor Accupril and have had the cough for years. I only continue to take ACE inhibitor because it helps protect small blood vessels in the kidneys which is beneficial for me. I also take Diovan to help control the blood pressure and have had no side effects I've noticed from...

Re:
A "double blind" study means that neither the person giving the therapy, nor the the person revievinig it know which therapy was given. In order for you study to have been double blind you would have had to recieve a pill - active or inert - and a pap machine, the pressure of which you couldn't tel...

Re:
Forget scrounging at Radio Shack to find the parts you need to make your own adapter. Buy an adapter made by the folks who made your CPAP. I bought a 12-volt adapter made by Respironics to fit my REMstar Auto. About $25 from CPAP.COM. You probably won’t save more than $5 by making one yourself and ...

Re: OT: ACE Inhibitor Cough
OMG! ACE inhibitors are a major enemy of mine! I cough so bad I cannot sleep at all! The sensitivity apparently runs in my family. The coughing from them is so awful, it makes the apnea seem like a walk in the park! I was on Diovan HCT for a while after that, but it eventually stopped working so wel...

Re: OT - Anybody here had neck surgery?
HI, I have not had any discs removed, or fused or anything that drastic (yet, and hopefully, I won't have to,) however, I do have bulging discs in my neck, and regularly use a cervical traction machine (UGH, not fun at all.) I have, however, had a number of RFA (radio frequency ablation - they use t...

Re: Humidifyer tank cleaning.
I use iodophor once a week, it's an iodine based food grade no-rinse sanitizer. But since I'm breathing the output, just to be that way, I rinse it with distlled water afterward.

Re: Just saying hello, and thanks!
The new pillow was great last night! very comfortable and significantly lower incidence of big leaks from a normal pillow pushing the mask around.

Just saying hello, and thanks!
Hi everyone! WOW! I've been lurking for about a week and just registered the other night. This forum has given me hope and helped me to the realization that I can take control of MY situation, and not just rely on secretive sleep docs and DME folks... I didn't know that laypeople could even get the ...
