Re: Looking for empathy!! Nasal congestion
I've been in much the same boat. The saline sprays vary in concentration of salt. I have to use a 2.3 % solution if I am extremely swollen. Ordinarily the cheap 0.9% spray helps to clear out anything that might be causing it. Since I've been on this new CPAP machine with the fine filters, things hav...

Re: Devilbiss intellipap auto adjustability?
Thanks Fred, I tried viewing the Webinars but the quality of the audio track was so poor that I only scavanged about 70 percent of the content. It sounded like a non-professional speaker in an auditorium with uncontrolled reflections/reverberations speaking up/down, clearly then mumbling. I viewed t...

Re: Devilbiss intellipap auto adjustability?
Among other things, when I'm startled, I hold my breath. Sometimes just so I can hear better. Seldom more than a minute for any of the causes. it startles me when a mask leaks.
It would help if machines had a "Hey, I'm all right, back off" button.
Thanks Fred for the Info!

Re: Help Please! I can not sleep
Yes, it is easy to have these problems. I've been able to sleep for a number of hours by A. Padding the mask with Silicone Putty as recommended above. Another brand is Microban BioEars. B. Fitting the mask at the highest pressure setting. That is temporarily setting the machine to CPAP only, max pre...

Devilbiss intellipap auto adjustability?
The ads for the intellipap auto say that the apnea threshold is adjustable. If so, in what way and how much? I'm looking for a cpap device that can be set to longer than 10 seconds of not breathing defined as apnea. I'd really like where this would be a minute or so. Can anyone help me? Thanks! Eudo...

Re: bedding, cold nights
Thanks, unfortunately I have to use a full face mask. I was hoping that there were FF masks with an exhaust hose or something. Either that or CPAP machines that didn't go amok when the exhaust was covered with a sheet or thermal blanket. Well, maybe someday.
Thanks again,

Hi Folks,
From all around the world, in all kind of climates, What is the best system that tolerates having the bedding pulled up over your head???

Re: Respironics exhaust port effects
.............I've set the fixed CPAP pressure to 10 Cm H2o and after removing the exhaust obstruction it is running at 4-5 Cm for an extended period. .......... Sounds defective. Their is another possibility. How do you have the ramp feature set? (I do not understand the comments about the plastic ...

Re: Respironics exhaust port effects
Where do you get the idea that the machine "sticks" at a lower speed than needed? I've set the fixed CPAP pressure to 10 Cm H2o and after removing the exhaust obstruction it is running at 4-5 Cm for an extended period. From what you say this is probably a defective machine and I should have it look...

Respironics exhaust port effects
Hi, I'm a fairly new user this time, I last used a CPAP machine over 8 years ago, and they are very different now. I'm using a Respironics Remstar Auto with C-Flex and a Mirage Quatro mask. From the way it behaves I've figured out it's behaviour as follows. If anyone knows different please let me kn...

Re: Please help, CPAP problems 5 months in
Hi, Yes, I've noticed problems with the Mirage Quatro FF with higher pressure. I've the Respironics Mstar CPAP Auto with Cflex. I found the setup sheet on the Internet and set the machine, temporarily, to just CPAP at 15 Cm H2o with no ramp, fit the mask at that pressure! Then set the machine back t...
