Re: Great first night!
Congratulations. Mine was on April 23rd and haven't missed a night. Stay with it, even if things get difficult (and they may) but the reward for doing so is worth it.

Equipment Features
Hi. I've been on CPAP since April (pressure is 10.2) and had a couple of concerns about my equipment shown below. First, I was told there is no backup battery option in the event of a power outage. Is that a major concern with any of you? And if so how can it be addressed externally? Also, I asked t...

Re: Pillow question (not "nasal" pillows)
Thanks to everyone who responded to my question. I've gotten enough favorable votes for the Papillow to justify trying it out so that's what I'll do. I'll post my thoughts here after I use it for a while.

Pillow question (not "nasal" pillows)
I've been using CPAP now for a little over a month with generally good results. However, I'm using a normal pillow when I sleep and it occasionally moves my nasal pillow mask around a bit causing small leaks to take place. I know there are special CPAP pillows that can be bought and I'm considering ...

Re: Blood Pressure Drop
Thanks to everyone for the information and encouragement. Exercise is definitely important, and I try to hit the eliptical machine 4-5 times a week. With new energy I'm hoping to want to exercise even more often.

Blood Pressure Drop
I've been using CPAP for 2 weeks now and have noticed a fairly significant drop in BP over several measurements, particularly in the systolic number. I'm on medication for BP and have been for a few years. Pre-CPAP, a typical reading would be something like 135/85 (regardless of time of day). This m...

Re: Quick Questions From a Newby
Thanks, everyone, for the replies. My equipment should now be posted (forgot to check "yes" in the display box for viewing).
I'll check with the sleep center about replacing the hose, as it's not a hole at the exhaust port.

Quick Questions From a Newby
Hello. I'm in Day 5 of the four week trial in which data is being gathered. My starting level is at 6 and ramps up to 17 throughout the night. So far so good but still getting used to things. First, what is the best water soluble product out there for soothing and "sealing" the nostrils in conjuncti...
