Re: Pulling mask off while sleeping

One thing my sleep analyst mentioned is that if you are taking it off in the middle of the night, you are possibly having Apneas and "suffocating" or feel like you are. Do you have a machine that adjusts your pressure as you sleep? I have found that if I fall asleep in bed, like if Dear Husband is r...

Re: no ear wax before cpap. now I have it?

You know, its weird... But i've noticed that too!!!! I usually keep Q-tips next to my bed to help with that. I often use a neti-pot with saline salt rinse as well. that helps.

Re: I need some "honest" opinions about my theropy

In my opinion... It's my opinion remember.... I really like my Resmed Machine.... It is one of the more up to date machines with all the "bells and whistles" as you say. But I actually do make use of them. I think you should use them if you have them. DH (dear husband) and I bought a card reader wit...

Re: HELP!!!HELP!!!!HELP!!! PLEASE

I am so proud of you for sticking up for what you want! When I first stated CPAP, I had a machine that didnt work, i didnt like it... etc. The first medical company i worked for, basically said 'You do your job, let me do mine, and stop complaining". If you are going to make sleep-therapy a lifestyl...

Re: Cold weather = numbers getting bad?

I started this last spring, so this is my first CPAP winter. I don't think anything else has changed besides the weather, and my leak lines generally look good, but...my numbers seemed to have inched up from <1.5 to >3 once we hit freezing night temps. I'm using the humidifier on zero. Should I jus...

cpap and basal body temperature

My husband and I will be trying to get pregnant in the next few months or so, and before I started CPAP therapy I took my basal body temperature every morning. Has anyone used the cpap machine and also succesfully been able to take their basal body temperature in the morning? Thing is, you need to t...

Re: Scary thing happened last night

KTeague, I wouldn't claim to have the exact same problem, but I have woken up before in the middle of the night, heart racing unable to breathe. Of course it was before my OSA diagnosis, but sometimes I still wake up in the middle of the night unable to get a full breath. I have a ton of allergies w...

Re: HyperJMA's OSA Journey

W-O-W! boy, has a lot changed within just a few weeks! I called the manager of the sleep lab for my specialist and let him know what problems I was having, and he gave me the info on a few new machines to try, and changed me to an Auto-BiPap. After 3 frustrating phone calls with the current DME, I c...

HyperJMA's OSA Journey

Hey everyone! Thanks for your help and support! Today, I decided to take a more pro-active role in my CPAP therapy, so I called the DME I work with and started to talk to them. The guy I talked to suggested a new face mask type and let me know that they can probably finagle the insurance into payin...

Re: CPAP Pillows

When I first got my machine, I bought a SleePillow that has a wierd shape, meant to help with the hoses and the mask and I LOVE LOVE L-O-V-E it! Well worth the money! What do you mean by sleaing the elbow? I am using a full face mask as well (mouth breather) and have been plagued with massive leaks!...

Re: Newbie to here - please post with help and suggestions

I just had hubbie check, and we have updated my machine identity. He says the only information he can get off the machine is "Remstar Pro M series". but it has a humidifier attached with heat and also it has a ramp possibility and it has a smart card in the back of it. I will call my DME to see what...
