I know if I'm having a hard time hearing someone who is speaking softly (or, not that I would, but if I ever wanted to eavesdrop) and if I plug my nose briefly and push with a little air pressure I can often hear slightly better. Goes back to 'normal' when I swallow, sort of like relieving the press...

Additional things that you can include in medical expenses are round trip transportation to all appointments (I don't know the cents per mile that is calculated for this... I live in NYC and calculate round trip taxi fair. Receipts not needed if under $75), therapists (licensed, such as LCSW), and y...

I would highly recccomend contacting the charter company. If it's OK'd ahead of time and you have a name of who ok'd it (better yet... something in writing, even if it's just a printed out email) there's a much better chance that you won't run into issues with the driver not being comfortable with t...

I have cflex (ins. won't cover auto) and when I was in the sleep lab they had be try using a machine without it and then with it. It does make a huge difference in being able to exhale. And I agree with the post that says "look elsewhere" if you dme isn't being helpful. You are going to be spending ...

Hello all. I'm new to the forum, although I was diagnosed about a year ago and started using a CPAP in April of 2005. I was looking for new filters for my machine (which the insurance doesn't cover) and ended up finding the forum (and the filters!). I found the making a profile process to be fairly ...

I had a very good experience with my sleep studies; due to work, I had both done on Friday nights. My doctor stopped in for a brief while Saturday morning just to take a quick look at the preliminary results and discuss them with me. All of the staff was extremely helpful in answering questions, and...

JENNIFERK, I was also horrified last April when I was diagnosed. My Dr. diagnosed sleep apnea and delayed sleep phase syndrome even before the first sleep study. I was even more horrified when I went for the second sleep study to find the proper setting on the CPAP and wore the mask. But I woke afte...
