Re: Why am I MORE tired when I dream?

Oh yes, that all makes sense! Thanks. Yes, DreamOn, it's aphagia that's got me. I wake up after about 2-3 hours FULL of air -- I'm almost crying because it is so totally painful. Exactly the feeling I had after laproscopic surgery when they left me full of air. Takes me burping and farting the rest ...

Why am I MORE tired when I dream?

First, let me say my sleep apnea is not being treated. I can't tolerate the CPAP, no matter what I've done. My docs say it's surgery or nothing. My question is unrelated to this, though (just knew you'd ask!). My doc once told me that I got hardly any REM or Delta wave sleep. How I feel (exhaustion-...

Taping question/Skincare regimen for women of the mask?

Hi there -- Ok, I've been doing a ton of experimenting. Swift LT = horrible aerophagia. Hybrid mask = too tight, can't get it loose enough not to wake up after 3-4 hours with a hurting face.... So last night I tried the Swift LT again, this time taping my mouth, and it did seem to solve the aerophag...

need help from Hybrid users!!

I started with a Swift LT for her -- LOVED how comfortable it was, almost felt like it wasn't even there. But, terrible issues with aerophagia.... Ordered a Hybrid Universal from Apria and got it yesterday. I felt very comfortable breathing through it, could get in all my sleeping positions, etc. BU...

Re: FINALLY saw Dr. after 4 wks on CPAP - now some help?

yes, my 90% pressure is about 9 or 9.5 --- so maybe I'll set it from 8-10 or 8-11. I also just got a Hybrid Universal mask to try (my insurance paid for a 2nd mask in the first month!) ... I love the Swift LT - it is so comfortable, but the chinstrap gives me a headache and I clench my teeth to make...

FINALLY saw Dr. after 4 wks on CPAP - now some help?

Hey everyone! I finally got to meet the sleep dr. yesterday after four weeks on CPAP and a sleep study report I didn't understand. So frustrating!! I wanted to dislike her and be mad, but she was actually really great, spend 1.5 HOURS with me, and asked me if I knew how to program my own machine, be...

Re: Still confused about data...?

I apologize if my tone is offensive -- it is certainly not all of you wonderful people that I am frustrated with!! I can't IMAGINE where I would be without you all!! But, I am really frustrated at the process we all have to go through to get used to this treatment. I think on my worst nights, if I c...

Re: Still confused about data...?

Sorry, guys...can you tell I'm frustrated?? I slept without my machine last night and slept like a ROCK for a blissful 10 hours. Obviously I will be tired today, but it felt so good to just sleep without any issues!! On the machine I can't fall asleep, then when I finally do I wake up in enormous pa...

Re: Noise w/ Respironics M Series

I turned the C-Flex completely off. Not only do I like it better (I can breathe at my own pace instead of the machine breathing me) but it is now totally silent.

Lisa...

Re: Still confused about data...?

Well, I don't really snore and my oxygen level never dropped beneath 95% in my sleep study. I have just begun (after a month) being able to fall asleep with the machine. I did feel good the other night when I got 5.5 hours of sleep, but probably only because I have been so severely sleep deprived fo...

Re: Encore Software and MacIntosh Users

Hi there -- I asked this same question about a month ago -- here's the thread: http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t42466/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=41337&p=362871#p362871 My friend had an old PC he wasn't using, so we ended up just getting a cheap monitor/keyboard at Costco - we downloaded a pirate version ...

Still confused about data...?

ok, a while ago I posted about my wonderings if I even HAD sleep apnea and I posted some numbers. From my sleep studies, it looks like I have no apneas, very rare hypopneas -- but my Respiratory Disturbance Index (RDI) is 32.7 and my RERA is 24.5. My REM RDI was 45. (AHI was 8.2 in REM and 1.9 overa...

Re: Swift LT for Her ... Problems ... Comments?

Hi Jan, I'm pretty new and have never had any other mask than the Swift LT for Her. I really like it. I don't notice the pressure on the inside being lighter, so if it is, it's not noticeably so. It is very comfortable resting inside the nostril, though, and my leak rate is stellar right from the ge...

Re: Poll on using Exhale Relief (mainly on Respironics & Resmed)

Thanks to Dori (see above) -- I have now finally been able to sleep at night because I turned my C-Flex off. I was still trying to exhale and the machine would start breathing into me! Now that I have it turned off, I can breathe in my natural rhythm, which is a short inhale and a very long exhale. ...
