Re: humidity
Buggsy24, I see that you are using the Swift LT. I use the same mask at times (I alternate between it and a Activa LT frame with an Activa cushion). I have found my best fit with the Swift LT is VERY loose so that I don't even have to take the straps off the mask or readjust. All I do is pull the pi...

Re: humidity
Turn the ramp time down or off, if you are waiting for the ramp to end to go to sleep, then you probably don't need it. Then you can turn it off, do what you need to, put the mask back on or hook everything back together and the machine will start automatically and you can go back to sleep. The more...

Re: compare activa and LT
I have both the Activa and Activa LT. From my experience, the Activa LT is not quite as good at preventing leaks for active sleepers. It's a little more finicky to get it to seal properly, and once leaking, it's less responsive to the activa's fix which is to simply lift the mask off your face and ...

Re: compare activa and LT
I have both, I prefer the Activa LT frame due to the exhaust port and micro adjustable forehead pad. I use the Activa LT frame with an Activa cushion. I like the way the Activa cushion inflates more than the Activa LT cushion does. All Activa cushions fit the Activa LT frame and vice versa......

Re: How much Oximeter do we need?
I have the SPO 7500 and I am very happy with the equipment. I like the fact that the unit is on my wrist and only the very light sensor is on my finger. The finger sensor is soft rubber, VERY light and stays on without taping or velcro. The unit automatically comes on when you slip in on your finger...

Re: Is prescription necessary to order equipment?
You need an Rx for the xPAP machine, but not anyting else (i.e. mask, chin strap if needed, supplies, etc.). Like El Pap said, go to the Dr.'s office and ask the staff to catch him between patients to write the prescription.

Re: Is the Software worth buying??
The short answer is YES!! Particularly if you want to be pro-active in your own treatment. You wil be able to track information and take control of your OSA. You can tell if the pressure that has been Rx'd is correct and/or adjust the machine yourself accordingly.

Re: Do you use the F&P HC150 and why???
The grass may be greener on the other side of the fence but what you already have is high in fiber, low in fat, high in antioxidants, and already paid for. ROFLMAO True, the GRASS always seems GREENER , I like the integrated unit that I have (and the fact that it is paid for ), but I have noticed t...

Do you use the F&P HC150 and why???
I see a lot of people here use the F&P HC150 humidifier instead of the integrated one for their particular xPAP machine. Does it give any advantages over the integrated unit?? I use my "built-in" humidifier in passover now that it has gotten HOT!!!! In cooler weather(winter) I usually set it at 1 or...

Re: Spouse of CPAP user can't sleep
White noise will definitely help!! Have you thought about a room air filter, such as a Honeywell Enviracare 50100 or larger. We have a 50250 that does a great job of filtering the air and as a white noise generator. Ours and other models three speed settings from low whir to hurricane We run ours at...

Re: OT - well, kinda - Ultram question
i was prescribed Ultram (Tramadol) when I tore the rotator cuff and 2 tendons (completely) in my right shoulder before I eventually had sugery to repair the damage. I found it did not help the pain much at all for me. The major side effect that I had was severe urinary retention, I could not void wh...

Re: Should I be up front with Sleep Doc???
I would like to explain what I meant by "UP FRONT". While I would never lie to my physician, I might NOT freely volunteer some information that he might feel obligated to censor. My sleep doc is also my Pulmonologist (and an excellent one at that), he is one of a large Pulmonolgy group. This group h...

I use a "Hybrid". I use a Resemed Avtiva LT frame with an Activa Cushion as primary and a Resmed Switft LT as backup.

Should I be up front with Sleep Doc???
Thanks to all here at Cpaptalk.com I have managed to educate myself on treatment for OSA!!! After reading from all here, my experience with the medical establishment has been at or SLIGHTLY better than average. This meaning that information has been short and peferably directed to the non-informed, ...

Re: I got a CMS-50F
I have the SPO 7500 and I really like how it operates. However I am impressed and intrigued as to how you got your SpO2 data on the report generated by Encore Viewer. How did you do this or is this how the CMS-50 reports..... Thanks.
