tonsillectomy next week, any advice?
I decided to have the two golf balls at the back of my mouth removed from along with the adnoids. I politely declined the offer of a UPPP as it sounds too aggresive for my wants. Any words of advice on the upcoming surgery other than ice cream and it hurts?

Re: I am a WORTHLESS OSA patient!!!
I had a similiar problem while sleeping on my side. I bought one of those funky looking Sleepap Pillows and haven't had much of a problem since then. I think I got it off of amazon.com

My new 8 foot tube
I bought an 8 foot tube which is an upgrade from the 6 footer I've been using since I started on CPAP in the spring. I was wondering if anyone knows how much the extra two feet is going to affect my pressure. I'm currently titrated for 18 and was thinking I may have to bump it up with the longer tub...

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.
I've been a hose head for about six months now. The the first morning I woke up after using CPAP for the first time was one of the happiest days of my life! I finally had a decent night sleep and each day afterwards I felt better and better. After about a month or so it changed as it seemed like I h...

Re: What do you do with your mask in the morning?
I hang my chin strap and mask to my headboard with hose attached. I dump the humidifier tank and let it air dry daily. I've never washed my head gear, guess I should some day. Though I like to take my showers before bed, so I don't think it is too dirty.

Social Workers
Does anyone know of any social workers working in the field of sleep disorders? From what I understand "Behavioral Sleep Medicine" is the technical name for it and it is dominated by phsyciatrists and psychologists. As a social worker myself, I am interested in any opportunities that may be availabl...

Re: 2 Months Now
Thanks everyone for your help. I would love to buy my own software as well as an oximeter which I think would help out a lot. I am limited financially by what I can purchase and rely mostly on what my insurance is willing to cover. Does anyone know of a good source to purchase these items at a low c...

2 Months Now
Hi everyone! I've been on CPAP for two months now, but this is the first time I've posted a message. I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea in March and started CPAP in April. During the sleep study my AHI was 128 and my O2 dropped to the low 60's before they woke me up and put me on a mask. My pressure s...
