I am an architect by day and a wrangler of 2 adopted children by evenning. The rest of my free time (lol) has been spent in community and proffesional theatres as a lighting and set designer.

I expect that my cold is just being around the kids who of course always have runny noses (esp. my 3 yr old son who goes to day-care everyday). I was just curious about it tho. I will keep cleaning my gear everyday to may sure all is as good as it can be. Now I must go to the store and get some meds...

Hello there CPAP world! Got my cpap machine last week and have been using it for 5 days. Right after I started using it I got a cold (running nose, drainage, headache all the usual). Thanks for the advice folks! The other night at the sleep clinic went fairly well. The tried 4 different maskes on me throughout the night to find something that fit and did not leak. In the end I needed a pressure of 11cm. In consideration of your comments concerning apap and heated humidification ...

thanks for the info friends. I will keep it in mind. Last night went fairly well. 4 different masks throughout the night to find one that did not leak much and a grumpy person helping me. The night seemed to go onfor a very long time. Hardest part may have been staying on my back for an entire night...
