Re: OT- A Hillarious CPAP related video

I'm all for humor in most situations, but I don't see the humor in this.... I guess you had to be there.

Help Please! Second night with new FFM - what's wrong?

Hello all, I have had my new Fisher & Paykel FFM for two nights now. The first night was wonderful.... AHI was 1.7. The second night, last night, the AHI was 8.7! I am using Snag-it to try to copy and paste the data with no success. Can anyone advise me how to copy and paste the data into my message...

Re: New mask to try tonight--Quattro FX

Hi all, I read the forum a lot, but haven't commented lately. Thank you so much for all the comments about The Quattro FX - I'm using it for the first time tonight and am looking forward to NOT taping my mouth. I will definitely work on keeping the lower straps a little tighter, especially since I h...

Morning Sleepiness

Recently I have found myself getting really sleepy around 10:00am at the office. Seriously considered having another sleep study done, and I actually made an appointment with a new sleep doc to talk about it. My numbers are extremely good, but I know that I need to pay attention to how I feel, too. ...

Re: Do you tape your mouth or use a chin strap?

Ha!!! My lips are not very obedient! You would think that with a pressure of 6, there would not me much flappin' goin' on, but there is! But I'm willing to try anything, as I like to drink water, cough a lot, and scream once in a while, too! Currently, I take the Chin-up Strip off, go about my busin...

Re: Do you tape your mouth or use a chin strap?

Chin straps alone don't work well for me, as my lips flap. I have been taping with the Chin-up Strips for several months now. After reading all the many threads about the dangers of taping, I became anxious and decided to pull out the Hybrid, which I tried to use last year. I felt exhausted, and my ...

Re: Travel tips

I use tap water for a few days, and have had no difficulties with my machines or my physical health. I have asthma, allergies and lots of sensitivities, and tap works for me while on travel.

Re: Ex Mouth Taper

I use the Chin-up Strips, but they are very strong. I have to use lip balm all around my lips, and it still sticks very well.... in the morning I need to pull off gently straight back, in order to avoid irritation. I don't like pulling my skin every morning, it can't be good for the skin. I may try ...

Re: Controlling our own treatment

Sleepyprm, Just a quick question - did you bring your prescription with you like Gumby has suggested in the past or how did you handle getting it? Your plight illustrates that one can never plan for everything when traveling. I guess I need to add to my suggestion not to pack your prescription in yo...

Re: Controlling our own treatment

I have often wondered how they let us go out there in the world with these dangerous CPAP machines..... I have a data-capable machine because I told my doc that's what I wanted. The DME questioned it too, and I told them I wanted to control my treatment. I check my data, and my sleep and my numbers ...

Controlling our own treatment

I was in Orlando recently and my CPAP machine was stolen from my rental car - obviously they didn't know what they were stealing, they just reached in an grabbed whatever they could get quickly - and that's not the point of my post.... I found a DME, Colonial Medical, in Orlando, and rented a machin...

Re: Do You Dump Out Your Distilled Water Daily?

I top off with distilled water when I can see that there's not enough left for the night, and wash out once a month or so with vinegar and a toothbrush.

Re: Another post about using wipes on mask

I agree that they are expensive.... usually 62 per container. I did see that Sam's Club has a case of them at a much reduced price. http://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop/product.jsp?productId=189520 I'm so glad to see this. These are what I use, and my masks last a long time, I'm definitely going to or...
