Is my machine toast?

Hi, everyone. We had a very heavy thunderstorm recently, and I lost power in the wee hours, so I dozed in my recliner that night. Next night, my machine wouldn't power on, and I figure it got zapped in the storm. A few other electronics stopped working, too (floor fan, cable box, a couple of nightli...

Former actor dead at 36 :-(

I'm not familiar with him as an actor (he was in the Disney film Heavyweights), but he died in his sleep last week at the age of 36. Yes, he had apnea; no word on whether he was treating it... RIP. http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/chicagoinc/ct-ent-heavyweights-joseph-wayne-miller-2018011...

Re: The costs of sleep deprivation

I'm disturbed by the increase in heart attacks with daylight savings time. I hate daylight savings time and I wonder if we will have it forever. I do, too. We don't change the clocks here in Arizona. I like that about this state, but it can be confusing; for half the year, we're on Pacific time, an...

The costs of sleep deprivation

I think most of us are familiar with the consequences of sleep deprivation over time. This video is concise and informative (Prof. Walker's hairstyle notwithstanding) for the forum's old-timers and noobs alike. I have no doubt that many years of sleep deprivation accelerated my dad's dementia and de...

Apnea mentioned on Top Chef

Season 15's first episode aired tonight and, when the cheftestants were introduced to their new digs at about the :38 minute mark, apnea enters the conversation; they're choosing beds, and one of the guys says he needs electricity for his sleep apnea machine. (Apparently, two of them use a machine.)...

Warning about Vitamin B cancer risks

I didn't see this when it was first published over the summer, but it's worth noting the elevated risks of cancer in men taking high doses of B6 or B12:

Proposed solution

In reading a few threads over the past few days, it's become very apparent that the forum's latest troll is having a field day here. But I noticed something that prompted an interesting in my mind. The best answer to any troll is not to feed it, but that's obviously easier said than done - especiall...

Re: Lotion to help you fall asleep

Yeah, that makes sense. My guilty conscience prompted me to repost something that I originally deleted. That's right...this "BleepingBeauty" no longer has a spam button because? *yawn* http://i675.photobucket.com/albums/vv120/BleepingBeauty/CPAPTALK_zps4b8cbtem.jpg So ridiculous. Enough already.

Re: Lotion to help you fall asleep

I suggest you ask Carolyn about who deleted it. Lots of "editors-in-chief" around here, last I checked. Guilty conscious? Yeah, that makes sense. My guilty conscience prompted me to repost something that I originally deleted. Didn't ask who? What was asked is Have to wonder why this was deleted? I ...

Re: Lotion to help you fall asleep

Thanks for the link, Kira. I know next to nothing about dog shows, so the videos were interesting. One question: What's actually in the containers that the dogs are hunting for around the bales of hay? Rats. Real, live rats. The rats are unharmed... Whew! I'm glad you explained that they're willing...

Re: Lotion to help you fall asleep

Mr. Shadow was 14.5 when Harper came to us. He immediately took over the training of the young dog, because, after all, SOMEONE had to know how to take care of his people. I told him he needed to stay until Harper had his Senior Barn Hunt title, and his AKC Championship. He left us 13 days after th...

Re: Lotion to help you fall asleep

I was not picking on BB, but trying to pont out that the "article" referenced was likely a paid endorsement. @BB, I am sorry you thought of this as an attack--I was only trying to HELP. Sorry, CF, but it didn't come across as helping . Maybe it was the delivery, or maybe it's just the nature of thi...

Re: Lotion to help you fall asleep

My opinion FWIW is that it would be one thing for someone to make their very first and only post to the forum with a shout out about this product and a totally different thing for a well established forum member to offer their thoughts. <snip> Since it was posted by a long time well established for...

Re: Lotion to help you fall asleep

Seeing old friends catching up gives me the warm fuzzies. Agreed! Great to see you posting, BB! I'll look at the lotion information later today! Lavender is one of my favorites but the oil I have (using at the air intake) is super strong and overpowering so I don't use it much. Hey, you guys! Nice ...

Re: Lotion to help you fall asleep

Ah, well, I think I'll stick with my lavender water. I'm too busy buying coat enhancer to grow my Harper Dachs' coat back after he lost it to a fever. My Shadow and Sunny, the Dachshund Duo, have left me -- Mr. Shadow was 17.5. So I now have my mask-snatching Beagle and a black and tan longhaired D...
