I was pretty worried also after talking to My Cardio Doc. I had 122 Episodes an Hour, with My 02 levels dipping to 60%. August will be 1 year on CPAP and it has been just short of a miracle for me. My Blood Pressure has been better as well.

KoolKat. I had my sleep study done last August, and I had 122 eposodes an hour. I didn't have the swollen ankles. The CPAP has changed my life. For a few years I was flirting with disaster, I was falling asleep at the wheel, couldn't concentrate at work and my short term memory got really bad. Now I...

It took me a few weeks to get used to it. I'd fall asleep and wake up gasping for air. Mine is set at 14. But I noticed results immediately. I was falling asleep behind the wheel, nodding off all the time, short term memory loss (Not good for an aircraft mechanic) and was waking up at least 3-4 time...

I went to the Dr. thinking I had ADD. The Dr. ordered a sleep study and they stopped me half way thru and put me on a CPAP . I had 122 episodes an hour and 02 went to 60%. The Pulmonoligist told me I had the worst case he's ever seen. I'm 34 and I'm sure that I've had it at least 10 years. And peopl...

I answered 30-40, (I'm 34) but I estimate that I've had it at least 10 years, could be more. Wonder how a persons build has to do with OSA. I have between a 17 and 18 inch neck, 6 ft @ 270. Also read that allergic Rhinitis can have an effect, as well as bronchitis. I know people with OSA who are obe...

Thats a BIG negative on the super glue. That may cause iether an illergic reaction, or quite possibly get permanantly glued to your throat. I'd try velcro. And yes, plastic is a far better idea.

VA Benefits??

Just curious if anybody has a service connected disability thru the VA for Sleep Apnea. I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea last August and have been out of the Airforce for around 7 years now. The symptoms I had started about 2 years after joining, and I'm in the process now of trying to get compensat...

Wannabe, Have you asked about some sort of Roto Rooter type of surgery for your Nasal passages? Have you ever had a broken nose? I know people that have had to have that done because they got their nose broken in a fight or a car wreck or what not. I know drinking alcohol made My snoring and Apnea w...

I have been on the CPAP for about 4 months now, and I'll tell it probably saved My life. I was falling asleep behind the wheel on the way home from work, but when I started falling asleep on the way TO work I knew there was something very wrong. I only got thru 4 hours of My sleep study when they pu...

The first week or 2 that I had My Remstar Cpap I would wake up in the middle of the night gasping for air. I think it was due to trying to breathe thru My mouth during sleep. I have the Ultra Mirage mask. I've had it about 4 months and have around 900 hours on it now. Heck I don't think I can even f...
