Re: The Movie "HALL PASS" and OSA
Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but I just saw the movie last night. It seems like whenever Hollywood shows CPAP in use, they go out of their way to show the most obtrusive looking gear. Always a full face mask. Never a hose cover. In this movie, they even dubbed in Darth Vader breathing n...

Re: Halfway report on S9 30 day desat test
Pressure is pressure. Oxygen levels are a constant on planet Earth (depending on altitude or unless you are on Mars). Resmed S8, S9 or Resperonic... cpap machines are designed to do one thing and that is to supply a given pressure at a given setting. To say that your older machine is supplying insu...

Re: Is it really necessary to clean tubing?
The only time I ever wash the hose is when I return from travel, if the hose has picked up an odor from being used and stored in a smelly hotel room.

Re: Legality of DME supplying USED machines
But to provide a used device and not replace it w/a brand new one before or at the time it is paid in full THAT would HAVE to be illegal. Unless it were at a drastically reduced price, for instance to someone of limited means or uninsured and paying out of pocket and making it clear to the user tha...

Re: a silly thought about increased AHI
So, in my opinion based on my experience, it is possible to have nights when the machine has high AHI numbers but I feel very rested in the morning, and it is possible for me to have nights with low AHI numbers but I feel unrested in the morning. I do think it is important for us to remember that a...

Re: OT My computer upstairs has a virus
Agree with some of the earlier posters: Download malwarebytes (the free version) to a flash drive on a working computer, install it on the infected one, update it, and then do a full scan.

Re: Did I avoid sleep apnea?
Is no one going to admit that they dreamed of peeing and then woke up peeing? Because I have never done that either I am DEFINITELY not going to admit to having done that, Jaylee, even if it happened on more than one occasion! This has never happened to me, but I guess I've come close on many occas...

Re: Airplane+CPAP+ears
I've had terrible problems with my ears when I've had to fly with a cold. Terrible pain and clogged ears that won't pop for weeks. I've had moderate success with "Earplanes", which are special earplugs that gradually equalize the pressure during takeoff and descent. Flew with a bad head cold on Chri...

Re: How often do you check your sleep data
When I first traded my old CPAP tank for a data capable APAP, I was downloading data every day, even though my numbers were good and I felt fine. Now that I've had the machine for roughly a year, I download and view the data much less frequently, probably about once every two weeks - unless I have a...

Re: why Distilled water?
I have been using distilled water but at the end of 2 months of usage I have calciifation on the bottom of the humidifier tank. I mean if they cheap out on making distilled water what won't they skimp on ? David Are you certain you bought distilled water, not purified drinking water? On my previous...

Re: DV Smartlink won't run after XP reinstall
Do the following:
Open \windows\system32\driver\etc\hosts in a text editor like notepad.
Make sure you have the following line in it:
127.0.0.1 localhost
If the above line is not present, add it and save the file.
Now try your smartlink software.

Auto adjust DEFINITELY. I'm pretty sure the standard model doesn't track efficacy data, only compliance.

Congrats on your great results. I think you mean "below one" days; it's impossible to have an AHI below zero.socalmonkey wrote: I can also tell you they're more "below zero" days here, than I ever had with my previous machine. 13 of them to be exact... I've never had that many AHI's under zero!

Re: Machine not working...
Off topic, why is it that most SPAP/BPAP ect. companies do not have customer service WHEN WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SLEEPING? You would think that this is the most important time for us to NEED customer service, when our machine breaks down while we are using it in the middle of the night. Remember tha...
