Still snoring even with NASAL MASK....
I would like to seek advice on my situation. I was using a RESMED MIRAGE ACTIVA NASAL MASK. One night I thought of using my IPHONE voice recorder to record if I was snoring or not. To my surprise the next day, I found out from the recorded sound, that I was still snoring. It was not very loud. But t...

Re: Is a CPAP machine better than a APAP machine
Thanks for all the response. I have a follow up question. If my prescribed pressure is 8 and I set it to auto at minimum 6 and maximum 15. When the machine detects the need to increase pressure say 8 in order to stop the apnea event, when does it go down to 6 again? Does it go down to 6 right away? ...

Is a CPAP machine better than a APAP machine
Dear Friends, I have a RESEMD S8 AUTOSET II. Is this an AUTOPAP machine? I found a response here from OZIJ below: The experience of most of us on this forum is that even on a self adjusting machine, the minimum pressure must not be set too low if you want good therapy. The reason is simple: the auto...

Re: I almost couldn't wake up today
Thanks Julie I have a little bit better understanding now. I use an APAP which is the RESMED S8 AUTOSET II. Now i set it at 7 min. (as you advised) and max. 15. I put the settling time to 15 minutes. Does this mean that the pressure already starts at 7 when I start the machine or slightly lower and ...

Re: I almost couldn't wake up today
Thanks tattooyu, I started with the Mirage Activa Mask for a month now. I just ordered the RESMED SWIFT LT which should arrive to me by next week. I want to try which one is better. Do you have a link where I can buy the chin strap. I really hate it when I wake up because of the air coming out of my...

Re: I almost couldn't wake up today
Thanks Julie, I take off my mask at around 7:30 am thinking since I'm going to sleep for just another hour and a half, it would be ok to do so. Is an hour and a half of sleep without the mask make me harder to wake up by the time it would be 9:00 a.m. The reason why I did not set my minimum pressure...

I almost couldn't wake up today
Dear Friends, I slept at around 12 last night. My RESMED MIRAGE ACTIVA face mask was a little bit tight the past few nights and I have been getting very low AHI of below 5. So last night I decided to loosen it just a little bit. From what I can remember, I woke up several times last night where my m...

Re: Resmed AutoSet II humidifier Choice only 3i
Thanks Bill One last question... Is 4i really better? Before I got my 4i, the company lent me a unit with a 3i and I noticed that the plastic container was a bit taller and I had the impression it could store more water and was easier to fill up with water than the 4i. I can't say now for sure if th...

Re: Resmed AutoSet II humidifier Choice only 3i
Dear Friends, I ordered a RESMED Autoset II machine online and I also got the RESMED humidaire 4i. In the humidifier choice settings, there is only the 3i choice. The 4i works fine even if the choice is 3i. Is there a need for a firmware upgrade on my machine or the 3i choice works just fine? I am j...

Possible suffocation during power failure
Dear Friends, I read in the RESMED MIRAGE ACTIVA user's guide that there is a warning: When the CPAP or bilevel device is turned on and functioning properly, new air from the flow generator flushes the exhaled air out through the attached mask exhalation port. However, when the CPAP or bilevel devic...

Re: Air pressure felt in tear duct and around eye
Thanks for all the comments. But can anyone explain more about the "pressure" sensation felt that goes around the eye? And why this is happening? And why sometimes it happens and sometimes not. Is there any danger that i can pop some vein in side my eye. Based on my personal experience, I feel this ...

Air pressure felt in tear duct and around eye
I have been using my RESMED S8 AUTOSET II with Mirage Activa Mask for a week. I have been noticing that early morning between 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. there are times that I feel that there is air inside my eye circulating. The feeling is there is air pressure that has gone inside and "circles" around...
