I have one but that doesn't seem to do anything except keep that cold hose from being on me.

Tempurature

Let me start by saying that my nickname is "The Pea Princess" after that story, The Princess And The Pea. Tiny little things bother me and it's difficult for me to get comfortable no matter what! So all winter long, I felt like the machine was making me cold. Breathing in that moist air. I thought i...

Re: Anybody using Lansinoh and full face mask?

I'm no expert, but I would think that would prevent it from sealing. You're supposed to clean all oils from the mask before using.

Re: OSA+Diabetes A1C Check this out!!!!!

The A1c is not done fasting. Of course if you are getting your cholesterol checked at the same time, you would be fasting for that.

Re: Interesting call from DME!

I used Lincare. I was told my supplies would be shipped automatically. Well I will have had my machine 2 years in August and have received filters and a new hose once by mail. No other supplies have arrived. I did go into the office last year in December to get another mask (very limited choices) a...

Interesting call from DME!

I was worried about getting supplies for my machine and had been told that I couldn't get them for another 6 months. The reason I was worried was that the place I was told I had to get them at is in another city that is hard for me to get to. I did finally locate the place on a trip elsewhere, but t...

Re: I swear the machine's making me sleepier!

Just my 2 cents, but when I first started, the haze and mental confusion went away once I started, but I felt sleepier and had a harder time fighting the sandman. I think there is a period of adjustment to get use to being on the hose. But I also think is like when you're running a long distance an...

Re: I swear the machine's making me sleepier!

You said to me - have I ever tried walking to walk with one? - when I suggested a walker. What makes you think I don't know how it to walk with a walker? Yes, I have had to walk with one! I have Rhuematoid Arthritis and have had joints replaced. Yes, I have tried to walk with one. I have had to wal...

Re: I swear the machine's making me sleepier!

That's the problem..."within range"! You should work to get all your "ranges" at the top! The medical community is full of it when it comes to these tests and their recommendations as to what is "normal". As for the light...turn it off! Try it for a week...total darkness and I guarantee you'll slee...

Re: I swear the machine's making me sleepier!

If you can walk with a shopping cart, maybe you should get a walker. Has no one ever suggested that to you? You need to move or soon you will not be able to. I had a walker. My dad has it now. Ever tried to walk with one? Especially carrying a purse? That damned thing slowed me down so much it wasn...

Re: I swear the machine's making me sleepier!

Ditto with Wulfman...you need 7 hours ( the newest sleep study found that people with 7 hours of sleep lived longer...it was an exhaustive study)...http://health.ucsd.edu/news/2002/02_08_Kripke.html I USED to sleep 12+ hours with naps and STILL felt bad and was nodding off. How is your iron level? ...

Re: I swear the machine's making me sleepier!

I did say " fairly vigorous exercise". Biking does not have to be that vigorous. Walking doesn't have to be "race walking". A stroll for a block and then home. After a week or so of that you maybe can go a little farther. I'm not suggesting you do a marathon. For all those conditions you mentioned,...

Re: I swear the machine's making me sleepier!

Raising the minimum pressure 1 cm to start may help. A minimum of 5 cm is very low. For most people it is too low. I am wondering what time of day are you taking these 5 hour naps. If the naps begin any time after noon and you sleep 5 hours, there is no way you will tired again at a reasonable time...

Re: Black under eyes.

That's interesting. I am using the Quattro for a 5 day APAP study, and noticed dark(er) circles under my eyes. I also noticed a red curved line at the side of my right eye. I've only used it 2 days so far. Very interesting. Could this be caused by air leaks from the nose bridge of this mask? Or per...

Re: I swear the machine's making me sleepier!

julie, As long as you are sleeping 5 hours during the day . . . you will not be able to sleep well at night. Period. It won't be easy, but until you force yourself NOT to nap, nothing will change for you. Even though it will be very difficult to do at first, the only way you will have the opportuni...
