Re: 3 years down the track......
I am sorry for trying to be positive and provide some encouragement that apnoea is not always a life sentence. Of course I have been back for another sleep study and done the full battery of tests. I have spent every night for 3 year on the CPAP there is no way I would have stopped without consultat...

3 years down the track......
I was just browsing through my bookmarks and found this site again. Three years ago when I had just been diagnosed with apnoea (AHI 67) this site was one of the things that helped me survive the thought of having to be attached to this damn machine every night for the REST OF MY LIFE !!!! Well here ...

Re: Is AHI=0 actually a bad thing ?
Pre CPAP AHI was 67.1 and my lifestyle isn't really a factor ... work stress is even, diet doesnt vary much and I am not much of a drinker. Leak rate of zero is shown in the software readout it confused me a little too ... I have also noted that the nights of less sleep are lower AHIs (obviously) bu...

Re: Is AHI=0 actually a bad thing ?
Using the Quatro it is recording leak of - 31lpm which is actually less than what the predicted leak rate is supposed to be .... I have no leakage issues at all ... my mask fits like a glove and no leakage. Set-up is Covidien Sandman Info with humidifier at 9cmH2O using a 6ft hose. Hose is routed fr...

Is AHI=0 actually a bad thing ?
Just curious to see how others experiences mirror my own. Over the past 10 days I have had 6 nights with AHI's of zero and 4 with AHI's of between 0.6 and 1.3. After the nights with the 0 scores I have woken feeling like I haven't slept all that well yet the nights around 1 I wake feeling great. Doe...

Re: Can you have apnea events sitting up?
When you sleep sitting up your head is likely to roll forward which actually further restricts the airways (if you have ever done a first aid course you will recall that you always tilt the head back when giving mouth to mouth to open the airways).

Nocturnal dexterity
Just wanted to share last night's efforts with everyone and see if this is a common issue amongst the hoseheads in here. I went to bed around midnight as is usual for me and noticed that when I put the headgear on that it pulled on my hair a little when I moved ... mildly annoying but not enough to ...

Re: Full face masks & beards
I am a bearded bastard and using the quatro dont seem to have much of a leakage issue (although not 100% on what acceptable leak figures are for the quatro)

Scuba Divers and OSA
Have noticed that a couple of regular posters have mentioned that they are scuba divers and it has got me thinking about a few different things. Questions for divers 1) Did you find that you had no problem adapting to the masks and the sounds of your breathing echoing through the hose? Personally I ...

Re: Newbie says hi
Issues are resolving I think 1) Rainouts don't seem to be much of an issue with the Sandman as opposed to the ResMed machine I had during the testing time - not sure if this is something to do with the humidifier set-up on this machine or if I have just been lucky. 2) Machine still wheezes but I am ...

Re: FF Mask Leaks - Argh!
Just curious if you get a lot of moisture (rainout) I found when using the ResMed machine during my initial hire period after titration that I got really bad leaks after about 3-4 hours and when I woke enough to realise what was happening I did notice that everytime I woke the inside of the mask was...
