Re: Voice problems revisited
John, Thank you for your very helpful suggestions and advice- this has really bothered me and for a long while, I thought I was just over-reacting and kept trying to just hydrate- but now I am actively going to try ALL of these things- addressing the possible reflux, increasing the humidity on my ma...

Re: Voice problems revisited
John, thanks for the reminder about vocal "warmups" w/ Tea, etc. Also, I DO have Sjogren's syndrome, which does make my mouth very dry. I spoke to my PCP re trying meds for reflux, and I am currently on a trial to see if there is any improvement. So...will be updating in a couple of weeks if not bef...

Re: Voice problems revisited
Thanks to all who replied- I do not have any symptoms of reflux, but it may be something to check out. I do wash my equipment frequently, maybe I can do more in that area- I DID clean out my humidifer tank every day when I first started CPAP, now less frequently- so that is certainly a place to impr...

Voice problems revisited
You may remember that a few months ago, I posed a question here about whether CPAP could cause me to lose my singing voice. The general consensus was no- but I still have not been able to sing, except for a few very isolated times. Yesterday I asked my PCP again, and he said that he HAS seen this be...

Re: At war with my Papcap?
I ordered one a few months ago- and the size was WAY too small for my head-I am not an alien or anything, but the largest size would maybe have fit my 3 yr old grand-daughter. Of course, since it had been opened, I am stuck with it- but there was NO way I could ever get it on my head to even see if ...

Re: QUATTRO MASK
I would add that you may need a different size than you were measured for. My first mask was a Quattro medium- and if you use the guide on the package, that kind of made sense for me- but after several months, I wondered why so may people loved this mask, because I was having a terrible problem gett...

Re: Ongoing difficulty with sleep
First of all, thanks to all who have replied. I am seeing a sleep specialist- and he is the one who suggested the nap- it is no more than 45 min. on the days that I take one. But- if I do not OPT for a nap, I just fall asleep on the sofa or chair- anyway. My apneas are gone- as for the pressure, may...

Ongoing difficulty with sleep
Hi- I haven't been by lately, but I have been getting quite frustrated. I sleep well with the CPAP, my numbers are good- but I still have trouble getting to sleep at a decent time. I have been working with a sleep doc re: setting a wake time to help reset my internal clock, gradually waking a little...

Well, I love Keanu Reeves in general, and the Matrix trilogy specifically- and I like the facts that a lot of quotes from the Matrix refer to machines and sleep....so- I am Trinity , and 101 is the number of Neo's apartment in the first film- before he is taken out of the Matrix. I'm a geek! }

Re: OT: Anyone taking Lyrica?
I have very painful fibromyalgia- and with the very FIRST pill, I felt much relief- I do not take it every day- more often in the winter when the fibro is most fierce- but I have not had any ill effects- this has been for a couple of years now. Good luck, if you decide to take it.

Re: Sleep Apnea and Surgery.... please help!
While you are having the surgery, it is not necessary to use your cpap because the anesthesiologist is monitoring your respirations, and will be using a type of respirator to give you deep enough respiarios- this is NOT the same as being on a resiprator, but you do have an endotracheal tube in. In r...

Re: OT: Ambien side effects!!!
FYI- Melatonin is not without its own side-effects, so should not be used by everyone. If you have a history of stroke, diabetes, epilepsy, kidney disease or depression, you should not use it. Just because something is "natural" does not mean it can be used freely by all without a problem. Always re...

Re: How do you get your hose to dry when washed?
I am in the "don't wash"- I got a new hose every three months, and changed it out then..then realized I could ask to not receive one so often, but still will just change it out with a new one. I keep an extra.

Re: Quattro Mask: Anyone else having seal problems (brand new se
Well, I am here again on this topic! I just got a new Quattro this week, when they brought the new PRS-One. It is the same size, I have re-seated the seal and it seems okay, but the bloody thing will just NOT seal- it's blowing air out like the machine was set on 40! I'm calling the DME tomorrow (to...
