Re: my mask hurts me

The three most important things to get right with CPAP are: The mask, the mask and the mask! Your struggle and frustration is very common and it is to your credit that you are perservering through this process of trial and error. It's not easy and many allow the frustration to get in the way. See it...

Re: Custom Fit Mask

Thanks Rooster, I appreciate the feedback! I must disagree with you about the "jet effect" however. I understand the difference between flow volume and pressure, but the phsyics of airflow means that a fixed volume passing through an aperture in a fixed period of time must pass through a smaller ope...

Re: Custom Fit Mask

Thanks for the questions Rooster. While nasal pillows are a great innovation and they provide an alternative for people who struggle with the conventional "box" mask design, they are not "as easy to use" as our mask. In my opinion, they are just too unstable to last through the night. In terms of de...

Re: Mask choices for a narrow nose? That won't bother my teeth.

Now that the TrueFIT Custom Mask is available in North America, this might be an option for you. A custom-made mask will address all the issues with poor fit that you are experiencing - the shape of your face determines the shape of the mask! Standard masks are made to fit the "average" facial featu...

Re: Custom Fit Mask

Thanks for the feedback jimnsc, the weight gain/loss question is a good one. About 90% of the TrueFIT mask surface sits on the top lip, nose and forehead. These areas of the face are relatively unaffected by changes in weight. Where the mask protrudes onto the cheeks, fit can be impacted by changes ...

Re: Mask for Sale: $1450.00

Good morning from Australia! Yes, the normal life of the Logical mask is three years. The material that comes into contact with the face is made of a hypoallergenic silicone based material which is similar to the material used for most masks. However, as our mask does not rely upon soft silicone pre...

Re: Mask for Sale: $1450.00

Wow, did this story generate some interest.... The original thread was about the Logical mask, made by my company Acurest in Australia. But it seems that another custom mask maker (ia1234) has jumped on board. I'm all for competition that may bring about a better solution for CPAP users and maybe ev...

Re: Custom-made mask available in Australia

Good question about replacing the mask silicone. The expected life of the Logical® Sleep Mask is three years. Because the materials react with the skin over time, this timeframe will depend in part on your skin type and also on how well you care for the mask (we provide detailed instructions). Becau...

Re: Custom-made mask available in Australia

Thanks for the feedback. We often get asked if we can provide a FFM version of our nasal mask. The short answer is no. When we sleep the jaw slackens and the chin drops towards the neck. This makes creating a seal around the mouth almost impossible using our technology. However, the answer is not re...

Custom-made mask available in Australia

Firstly, congratulations on a great forum! I have been monitoring this site for several months and note the huge number of posts about uncomfortable and leaking masks. I am here to tell you that there is a solution! Acurest was formed late in 2008 to bring to market the Logical Sleep Mask, a custom ...
