Re: Newbie: Hate Bipap machine so far won't use it...
he did is adjust the machine to 7 inhale and 4 exhale, it seems a little better just in 2 minutes of trying it and I think it's also adjusted with a 10 minute ramp up. In my wildest dreams I could not see myself with a full face mask, I get paranoid and things go through my mind, like what happens ...

Re: distilled water
As it happens, my wife who opposes any modern technology, was discussing OSA with a Doctor friend by email, Her appraisal was based upon my experiences (I've been using a Resmed every night for 14 months and swear by it) and another friend who after one night, refused to use a machine. As far as I c...

Re: nosebleads
I was bleeding heavily from the nose due to warfarin, even had to call an ambulance on one occasion. After putting up with it for six months, I complained to my GP last week who suggested a cream containing Phenylephrine Hydrochloride and chlorhexadine. It's sold in Australia as Nasalate. It can onl...

Re: "ideal" nos. of channels in sleep study
My sleep centre suggested using undiluted hair conditioner on the goop and let it soak in before washing hair normally. It worked reasonably easily for me (male with short hair) but I've nothing to compare it with.

OT: A cure for snoring
4 blokes go on a hunting trip. Their tents only have room for two men in each. No one wanted to sleep in the same tent as Daryl because he snored so badly. They decided it wasn't fair for just one of them share with Daryl the whole time, so they decided to take turns. The first bloke to sleep in Dar...

Re: mirage activa Lt
I have the LT as well. They eliminated the short hose that was on the original mask. There is no reason to connect and use it. That short hose was for quick disconnection purposes. On the LT, your just suppose to pull the disconnect (where it attaches to the hose)... thats a quick disconnect tube. ...

Re: Sniff Test
Now I'll ask a more direct question. Has anyone ever had a fluoroscopic examination of the lungs while lying on your back and inhaling air by deep sniffs? It is a test to check the operation of the diaphragm and possible malfunctioning of the phrenic nerve. Yes except that mine was done while stand...

Re: Wondering how many use their ramp????
I used ramp at its inital lowest and longest setting for about one week and then increased the initial setting to 6 and 5 minutes for perhaps a month. Now I simply start at 10 without any ramping and find it much more tolerable.

Re: Dirty Cpap Equipment is a Dead End Road
Tomjax said, You could have all the slime in the world in your tank or water from your toilet or the creek and it would not casue problems. The bugs simply cannot hitch a ride on the water vapor. Which is exactly what my DME said at our first meeting. She reported that she had attended a factory mak...

Re: Need some suggestions on equipment
Windmill said, did I read somewhere that I would need to check this before a certain time each day to see it? Resmed machines clear their data at noon each day but of course that only applies if their internal clock has been correctly set. remember that Day light Saving may also have interfered with...
