Aerophagia & Arousals
I have reached a point where I am at such a low setting (6 cm H2o) on my machine that it's too low to manage apnea/hypopneas. Over the past 2 years I have had to lower my pressure settings because of all the aerophagia arousals. I'm currently on auto pap with c flex enabled but the air continues to ...

Apnea and Insomnia
Does anyone have suggestions for how to break a short-term insomnia episode ? I have been sleeping great the last 6 months or so but as of last week I had one bad night where I couldn't fall asleep except for three 1 hour sessions. And since then it has been marginally better with the help of sleep ...

Dental Appliance - does it work ?
Does anyone have experience using a dental appliance as therapy for apnea/UARS ? My sleep doc recommended this as an alternative to CPAP because of travel and the usual hassles of CPAP therapy. I am a mouth breather so I have some reservations. I found a dentist who speclaizes in treating sleep apne...

Re: Central sleep apnea ?
thanks for the comments -- yes, it's a Respironics machine. I've been on it for 3 years now. I have used a single pressure before but I switched to the range because of too much gas in the stomach. I was on a fixed settings of 11 and then 9 but the stomach gas was creating more arousals. Now I have ...

Re: Central sleep apnea ?
Thanks for the comments & suggestions: no centrals showed up in my sleep study but that was 3 years ago also no limb movements showed up either. I wonder if this can change over time, especially as we get older. My doctor thinks its insomnia but I think he turns to insomnia when he's not sure what t...

Re: Machine Suggestion for Aerophagia
thank you OutaSync ! -- one other question, what type of doctor did you go to to help with the GERD & weak LES evaluation and treatment ? (by the way, last night I re-set my machine to "auto" and lowered the minimum from 11 to 8 and what a BIG improvement !

Re: Machine Suggestion for Aerophagia
I experience intermittent aerophagia (I'll be good for weeks and months and then all of a sudden I'll have a very bloaty/burpy night or two to the point where I can't sleep for more than 30 minutes at a time. Then I get up relax by reading, then back to bed and repeat this over and over. Then it jus...
