Re: Sinupulse nasal irrigator, anyone use one of these?
I LOVE my netipot! That one web site makes it sound like the netipot is ineffective, but I just don't believe it. These electronic devices look like they do the same thing, just with more pressure. I thought I'd seen an attachment for the waterpik that allowed sinus irrigation as well, but I'm not s...

Re: Frustrated!
Well, last night was actually much better. I went back to the papillow, and tried to route the tubing down toward my feet and then back up again. I also tightened the mask a bit on top. This made the pillows tighter against my nose, but I actually got used to it and I didn't have as many problems mo...

Re: Frustrated!
Thank you EVERYONE for all of your input and suggestions. I will make the changes that I can for tonight, and see how it goes. I will call the sleep clinic tomorrow to see if there is a better mask for me to try. I will keep you posted....

Re: Frustrated!
Amy, I would not be able to use my favorite mask at all if I did not "cradle" the nasal pillows with an extra strap. A homemade strap -- the leg cut off a pair of pantyhose tights. I place the extra strap under the nasal pillows holder and route it up toward the top/back of my head. I will be tryin...

Re: Frustrated!
Thanks for the input! I ditched the PapPillow last night as well--my neck has been killing me and I thought it was because the pillow is so hard and I'm used to a very soft pillow. I am afraid to go to a ff mask-the idea itself makes me feel claustrophobic! I have a hose hanger on order from cpap.co...

Frustrated!
I've had the machine for 4 days, and each night has been successively worse! Last night I finally took the mask off around 2am--I just couldn't take it anymore. I seem to be okay for the first few hours, but as soon as I change position, the mask moves and I start getting whistling and I can't get p...

Re: That first unmasked breath in the morning...
I have one of my wacky theories about that first breath without the mask. We tend to ignore smells that we get used to, especially in our homes. That is a good thing, because our sense of smell should alert us to changes, not so much keep reminding us of the same smells all the time. It is similar ...

Re: That first unmasked breath in the morning...
This was my 3rd morning on the machine, and I have experienced a sweet smell every morning as well!
So has anyone figured out the cause?

Re: How often do you think about your SA or equipment each day?
I am thinking about it a lot, but then I've only had 2 nights on the machine! I went back today to get a small pillow for my mask because somehow I didn't make it home with a small. The XS was too small, the Medium was too big. (I feel like Goldilocks, lol!) I'm hoping that as I work through all of ...

Ahhh, that 'splains it!riverdreamer wrote: The pressure showed as zero because you are not using an auto machine. It only shows the 95% pressure when you are on Autoset. With an Elite, you don't have that option. It runs all night at the pressure that is set.

Re: First Night: Success!
That may be because you waited until after noon to get your data. I did get the data before Noon, but I don't know if the clock on the machine is set correctly. I did not see that anywhere in the settings. Right now, leak is your most important number, and it looks like you're doing great. Under "m...

Re: First Night: Success!
If you are having problems with leaks, try using the medium pillows..sounds counter intuitive, but it worked for me. Also, the small made my nose and nares hurt, the medium did not...matter of fact, once seated and inflated, I really couldn't even tell they were on. Welcome to the club and wait, it...

Re: First Night: Success!
Okay, I got the Ayr (hopefully 1 time with vaseline won't ruin it!) And I got the data from the machine. The first info said PRESS: NO DATA (not sure what that means) and then leak 0.00 l/s (which I thought was strange because I KNOW I felt leaking) AHI: 1.6 AI: .2 HI 1.4 I do have data from my slee...

First Night: Success!
Well, last night was my first night, and I feel so much better this morning that usual! Yay! I did wake up often, just trying to get used to the hose, the new pillow (PapPillow) and the mask. I had to go to the bathroom, and when I put the mask on again (Mirage Swift LT for her with the small pillow...
