You would be doing a lot of good if you become a whistleblower, and report this to the appropriate authorities.

I wonder if anyone has died from getting a defective and/or contaminated gear?

Re: Quattro Air mask not venting? Or is it??

Thank you all for your replies! I think the steady blast of air from my Quattro Mirage and Ultra Mirage vents has led me to think I need that much air moving through the mask to expel the air I breathe out, so I am not re-breathing all night. The Quattro Air has so little air coming out of the circu...

Re: Apria. Is this a new machine? (Resmed S9)

Update: I finally got this straightened out. Apria gave me a "NEW" ResMed S9 Autoset! This time, I checked the "Run Hrs 0" and it was a brand new machine. The Respiratory Therapist named Yanina (different from the first one I saw) was very nice and to her credit didn't try to make any excuses for me...

Quattro Air mask not venting? Or is it??

I just received my new ResMed "Quattro Air" full face mask. I tried to wear it last night, but when fitting it for leaks I realized it was not venting? This mask has some new design that is suppose to have a circular vent around the quick-release elbow that holds the tubing. The vent is part of the ...

Re: New Resmed S9 and Lincare

If you go through Apria, make sure you see the "Run Hrs total" in the "Service" Mode. Apria sold me a used machine as "new" just this past week. They are crooks... JMHO

Re: Apria. Is this a new machine? (Resmed S9)

Update: Apria has agreed to replace the used Resmed S9 Autoset I received with a brand new machine. I am picking it up tomorrow (5/15/2014). Their excuse for selling me a unit with over 1,000 hours of use as "new" was they sell refurbished and reconditioned machines and they didn't realize I wanted ...

Re: Apria. Is this a new machine? (Resmed S9)

Thanks Kaiasgram, I took photos of the display showing "Run Hrs 1042" , along with a photo of some sticker on the front of the machine and the serial number on the back. I intend to call Cigna first, then CareCentrix. Apria is getting all this gear back, and I am going to insist on a different suppl...

Re: Apria. Is this a new machine? (Resmed S9)

i purchased the machine as part of a whole upgrade of my CPAP gear.

My yearly deductible hasn't even been met, so I will be paying for it myself as well.

I really feel like I got ripped off, by people who fully knew they were ripping me off..

Re: Apria. Is this a new machine? (Resmed S9)

Perhaps the "reset all" doesn't reset the Run Hrs setting? Correct. That's why we always tell people to check Run hours, not just Use hours. Looks like that machine was used for roughly 4-6 months. That's unbelievable! I asked several times if the machine was "new in the box" and the Respiratory Th...

Apria. Is this a new machine? (Resmed S9)

I think Apria sold me a used Resmed S9 Autoset this week. It was suppose to be brand new in the box, but I had to ask for the case that comes with it... and they didn't have the Slimline tubing that is suppose to be included. I have good insurance (Cigna) and used the CareCentrix program to get the ...

Re: Third Night S8 Autoset II

Can I please ask you what brand of recording pulse Oximeter you are using? Also, are you connecting it directly to the ResMed S8 Autoset II and reading it along with the ResScan software? I have seen the Oximeter tab in my software, but cannot figure out what gear I need to get this up and running. ...

Re: When the Electricity Goes Out

After this happened to me once I "borrowed" a battery backup from my computer system. There are a lot of them available, by APC and other manufacturers. Most have some type of beeping alarm when the power fails.

Any of these computer battery backup's should work just fine for home CPAP gear use.

Re: Sleep study ripoff

Hi Jim, Yes, sleep studies are a ripoff, a complete ripoff if you ask me. Mine was over $5,000 at a local hospital, and insurance paid around $4,300. I couldn't sleep at first, and only slept for about 30 minutes before before being awakened and told I had severe sleep apnea. The next 3 hours were t...

Re: Apria sending generic supplies

Can you not afford to just buy your own filters (changing Apria seems like a lost cause from all I've heard)? Hi Julie, Yes, fortunately I can still afford to buy my own filters, and can afford the two hundred plus dollars a month I have to contribute to my health insurance premium on top of the te...

Apria sending generic supplies

I have insurance through CIGNA, and they use Apria as their CPAP supplier. Recently I received new filters for my ResMed S8 Autoset II, and instead of the ResMed OEM filters they usually sent, Apria instead sent cheap AG Industries generic non-hypoallergenic filters. I called and requested the origi...
