I was thinking a computer backup power supply, would need to see how much a CPAP machine draws but I'd bet it'll last a long while with a big enough power supply..
nice thing is you wouldn't even know it'd kicked on unless you had an alarm on the backup power.

Re: Nose problem
I did this, works ok
my nose still tender in the morn though, prolly from being all puffed out all night.
Most folks will prolly tell you your head gear is too tight, prolly is. I loosened mine up and it eased some of the soreness. feels way too loose but it hangs on there.

nasty head cold, home sick off CPAP
I got a nasty head cold, totally plugged my nose up. All I have for a mask is the swift LT in my sig, no full face jobber yet. DME tells me I gotta wait 6mo before my insurance will purchase a new one for me. I plan to get the FF for backup. with the nose all plugged I can't get any air without mout...

Re: What wakes us ?
Before CPAP it was to go to the restroom, 3-4 times a night.
When I got my CPAP my schedule switched to graveyards, so now I'm trying to get used to the CPAP AND Graveyard shift at the same time.
I'm awake, A LOT.
Now I'm sick to boot.
life sucks right now

Re: Graveyards kickin my arse

Severe OSA. I'm going to promote out of graveyards soon hopefully, in hindsight I wouldn't take a sh...

Re: Graveyards kickin my arse
working nights wouldn't be bad, if I wern't so tired. I get to feeling Ill in about three days, stomach acid goes nuts (already started prolosec), mood turns rotten and I can't remember or function. I'm going to give the sleep aid a try, 1 good days rest will tide me over for a night or two. I have ...

Graveyards kickin my arse
Rotated into Graves, can't sleep during the day and I have ~5 more weeks of this crap before I get back into *almost* normal hours. I'd make a terrible vampire I always felt horrible (huge understatement) if I ever tried to take OTC sleep aids, Tylenol PM etc, now I'm on CPAP think I'd wake up not f...

Re: Question on pressure setting
My leak rate is anywhere from 0 to .6, wait a full week? Should I leave it at 9 then and just see how it goes for ahwile or go back down to 8? I felt pretty comfortable at 9, I set my ramp to 5 mins and bumped up the starting ramp to 7 I think. I was feeling suffocating at too low of a ramp setting....

Question on pressure setting
Hello all, I was prescribed a pressure of 8, my DME set the machine to 8 and sent me on my way after the initial 30-40 minutes of explaining and paper signing. my first night at 8 I had an AHI of 22+, so I set the machine to 8.4. My AHI went down to 8 now I'm up at a setting of 9, AHI was 7.4 after ...
