Re: new cpap user
I use the comfortgel nasal mask and I like it. I bought a swift lt and a comfortgel full face on amazon because I wanted to try them but I still like the comfortgel nasal mask the best. The nasal pillows are comfortable but it feels like too much air pressure right up my nose. The full face mask gav...

Re: What happens when power goes out??
UPS stands for uninterruptible power supply.
It's a battery backup power source that's usually used with computers. It keeps your stuff going when the power goes out.
Now I'm thinking I should get one to wake me up when the power goes out.

Re: What happens when power goes out??
So the Resmed masks have a special valve. I got a Respironics Confortgel FFM and I guess that doesn't have the valve.
I'm almost afraid to try it out tonight!

and you're wearing a full face mask or have your mouth taped shut?
Do you suffocate or do you pull off the mask in your sleep or wake up or what?
I just got a new FFM to try and the manual says that if the machine isn't operating properly you can suffocate!

Re: My equipment
Others have gotten the escape and when they posted here they were encouraged to go back to the provider and get the elite.
The elite also has EPR which makes exhaling easier.

My comfort gel is working very well. I'd like to try some other masks though. Too bad they cost so much.

Re: Off topic ( Smoking )
I quit smoking with hypnosis and it was very easy. I didn't miss it at all and never had another puff. That was maybe 7 years ago when cartons were going up to 25 bucks and I was ready to quit anyway. You can try calling 1-800-LUNGUSA and see if they have any group hypnosis sessions at hospitals nea...

It DOES show how to access the clinical menu on the Elite II.
I wanted to change my EPR and the manual doesn't have this info.

Thanks for the welcome!
I really do need some brain improvement. I haven't slept well for about a year and a half.

Newbie here, DME experience
I had my sleep studies and was diagnosed with severe apnea. The lab set me up with a DME. They called and set up an appointment to come to my house. I was curious to see what machine they would bring and was very pleased when the RT whipped out the Resmed Elite II. I had seen that machine on this si...
