Re: Veteran switching to Dreamstation from S9
Thanks for the feedback. The S9 works fine, of course, but it is an "older" machine now....so I was glad to get an upgrade of sorts for a co-pay. And it's my first time to switch to a different machine, so I have no experience at this kind of thing. I'll keep adjusting the Dreamstation....at least I...

Veteran switching to Dreamstation from S9
Hi, everyone! First post in a very long time, and I need some assistance with my new Dreamstation. I've been successfully using CPAP since mid-2009, mostly with a Resmed S9 set to Auto-CPAP and with a full-face large Quattro mask. My provider recently issued me a new Dreamstation. Using it out of th...

Re: Drums
As a drummer of many, many years on this here forum, I can only say: you never want the drums to stop. Why do you never want the drums to stop? Bass solo.

Re: Mealatonin / w Ambien CR ?
I did take Melatonin for about a week last month, as I was still dealing with anxiety issues in my second month of CPAP. The Melatonin knocked me out, and for the first time I had great numbers (AHI under 5). My problem with Melatonin was getting a bit of a hangover which would last most of the next...

Re: FULL FACE MASK FOR SIDE SLEEPERS
I use a medium Quattro and don't have problems with leaks while side-sleeping. So maybe it's just a question of tightening or loosening.......but more likely it's dependent on the individual's facial structure. One thing that I've noticed, though, is that I swallow a lot more air while on my side.

Re: Red bump on the bridge of my nose...
I have the same problem now, Rushman, now that I'm able to actually sleep all night with the Quattro (that, in itself, took seven weeks). I'm going to follow LinkC's advice and try a band-aid tonight........and I'm using the Pad-A-Cheek cover as well.......

Re: I'm strictly a science guy, but....
Uh. Not a science guy. I have a feeling, though, that even Dubya himself would probably be successful on CPAP, just from associating with all the real Texans, if someone were to take the time to explain to him the basic concept of collecting data and then making use of it. ("Can somebody come fix t...

I'm strictly a science guy, but....
....something has happened since I introduced myself here on the forum. After struggling and struggling to get to sleep with the mask on, and then a couple of nights using Melatonin to fall asleep, last night I went straight to sleep with the mask on (no Melatonin).........wore it for seven hours wi...

Re: Saying Hello At Long Last
I am using the ramp, but only for 5 or 10 minutes (I keep trying it back and forth). When I put the mask on in the middle of the night, I shut the ramp off and just let it rip. But wouldn't you know, after waiting to post until yesterday, I had success getting to sleep last night for the first time ...

Re: Saying Hello At Long Last
Thanks, everyone, for the warm welcome. I am definitely committed and will see this through. From what I've been reading over the last few weeks, and with my basic bit o' claustrophobia, I figured it wouldn't be easy. I have read some of the New Users section in the past but not as in-depth as I sho...

Saying Hello At Long Last
Hey there, my name is Lance, and I've been lurking around this forum for several weeks now. Just decided, "hey, why not introduce yourself?" I was diagnosed with OSA from a sleep study back in January. At the second study in mid-February, I was tested with a full face mask which seemed to go okay an...
