Re: tongue clicking in back of throat ruining my life
Hi all, I would really appreciate your advice in this matter that is ruining my life. I am a 5-year happy CPAP user. I LOVE my CPAP and it has really helped me get my life back. For the longest time, my settings were: Apap [5-10], EPR = 3. About 1 month ago, I got sick (nasty cold type thing). I fe...

Re: Risks of using Cpap
Can the longterm use of Cpap cause abdominal pains and Laryngitis conditions? Which Cpap and mask is effective? What causes coughs whilst using a Cpap? Long term CPAP use is generally very safe, but some people can get side effects like air swallowing which causes bloating or abdominal discomfort, ...

Re: Airsense 11 autoset wireless concerns
hi all, Just got my device yesterday, I did not connect it to my own wifi network. yet, after a few minutes, the screen says that it's been updated. Does it have independent wire connection and will connect to an unknown connection and share my data either with the manufacturer or different healthc...

Re: Auto on/off: consensus on reliability? (Airsense 11)
I stopped using the auto on/off feature on my AS 10 when I realized it wasn't perfectly realiable. I have an AS 11 now, and it's still turned off. Problem is, _I'm_ not perfectly reliable either, and was thinking of turning it on again. Is there a consensus as to the reliability of this feature? Au...

Re: Two questions. Zolpidem affecting readout? Dental issues.
Can't sleep these days(anxiety and panic attacks) and unfortunately become reliant on sleeping pills, but I do need to sleep, albeit now very erratically, an hour or two at a time, and some say that talking zolpidem in particular, can give false readings. Is this true as I read it can alter arousal...

Re: Earworms (stuck songs) and intrusive thoughts - UARS / sleep apena connection?
Could be related. UARS and sleep disruptions can subtly affect brain function and memory processing, which might make repetitive thoughts or earworms more noticeable.

Re: Insurance Fraud? Airsense 10 and ROTECH.
This is a common issue with DME providers inflating the replacement value in their "Patient Responsibility" forms to cover lost rental income, not just the hardware cost. Under Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, you have grounds to contest that valuation, especially since the MSRP o...

Re: How do you sleep?
Sleeping without clothes can improve thermoregulation and comfort for some people. Pajamas help with hygiene and warmth, but ultimately body temperature and personal comfort dictate what’s optimal. AirSense users often note airflow and mask comfort matter more than sleepwear choice.

It’s decent but not perfect. Sometimes it misses a breath or two before kicking in, so I wouldn’t fully rely on it.

Re: Looking for input on CPAP setup / new forum member
I went through something similar when I changed my mask and turned EPR on. My AHI also went up a bit during the first month until my body adjusted. What you describe with the pressure staying around 7.8 is exactly what I saw. Raising the minimum to around 8.5 helped a lot, not by much, but enough to...

Re: Increased Daytime Anxiety and Depression
In my case (NYC) it was an overlap: my body was adjusting to the new sleep sensations, and my mind was interpreting them as danger, which made the daytime anxiety and OCD flare up. I worked with Manhattan Mental Health Counseling on gradual exposure to the post-night triggers and on breaking the day...

Re: Pressure feeling in chest
That chest pressure likely comes from your CPAP pressure not matching your needs when you skip the mask. Passing out is serious, your oxygen probably dropped too low. Raising the pressure helped because it improved airflow. If it keeps happening, get your settings checked. Don’t skip wearing the mas...

Re: Power Consumption
Your CPAP uses 150 W. For 8 hours, you need about 1,200 Wh.
A power source rated 300–400 Wh won’t last the full night—only 2 to 2.5 hours max.
Get a battery with at least 1,200 Wh capacity to run your CPAP all night. Check watt-hours, not just “hours” on the label.

Re: CBD (from cannabis) oil and deep sleep
I came across this thread by chance and wanted to add something. In my case, CBD really made a difference for deep sleep, especially after stressful periods. The regular oil didn’t help me much, but I found that the products from Joy Organics work much better for me – they have mint-infused options,...
