Re: Question for you "Computer Techies" out there
At least 3 options for running a windows operating system on a mac: Boot Camp (dual boot... you choose one or the other windows or mac OS) Parallels (start Mac's OS and run windows as a virtual machine) VMWare's Fusion (windows as a virtual machine after starting the mac's OS) Boot camp is better f...

Re: eBay strikes again for unknown reason...
I could see medical suppliers misreporting CPAP accessories as prescription items to ensure no second hand or discount market. I'm pretty sure medical supplies requiring a prescription run afoul of eBay's policies. Also, I don't know about medical supplies but my wife says almost all the midrange de...

Re: Ready to Quit
While what you're saying is true, the guy shouldn't give up, cut him some slack, it's hard, really hard to get used to this. If you're not "with" someone having any kind of tryst or new relationship gets a heck of a lot more complicated, you can actually feel worse some mornings if rainout or someth...

Re: Question for you "Computer Techies" out there
Like the above poster said, the XP Profession OEM version is the cheapest. Reinstall sounds like an illegitimate copy to me, if you're going to end up with one of those, just get one for free somewhere. If you want a legal copy, OEM just means "no fancy box" it's really meant for computer installers...

Re: Ready to Quit
I hate to whine (well, maybe I like it), I am still having major issues with the system. And I've been on way longer than most people who are still adjusting. I've had a cold for a week and I could not use it. I've had to stand on my head (yoga) to even get air into my lungs. I hate to say it, but ...

Re: Ready to Quit
You know how you feel, you may have something wrong, I would follow up with your sleep doc, HOWEVER, the odds that you've been misdiagnosed are likely pretty low. You need to take charge of fixing your problems to make the therapy work for you, or whatever prompted you to seek treatment will continu...

Re: Pressure and weight gain issues
If you are having skin issues, see a dermatologist. You may have a slight skin disorder, especially if you are pale and of a genetic make-up that allows for red hair. Treatment for any skin issues can be surprisingly easy, just make sure you apprise the dermatologist of all your medications and why ...

Re: New to CPAP, my initial problems, any ideas?
Have you tried just not turning it on (still keep the humidifier attached and have water in it)? That still gives you humidity... it's just in passover mode. I can't recall if my model allows me to do this. I'll double check again tonight. The hose insulation actually has the added benefit of makin...

Re: Ramp pressure too low to stop back-sleeping apneas?
Thanks. Guess I will stop using the ramp. I never ramp it when I come back if I get up for the bathroom anyway. If you want, some machines allow you to set ramp time and beginning ramp pressure, you could up your beginning ramp pressure to closer to 8 or simply adjust the ramp time down to 10 minut...

Re: Is my machine data capable enough
Hi--I would ask for a new machine if you can exchange it. The Resmed Elite II w/ EPR is a great machine, compact and gives data on the LCD readout on the top of the machine. It is very accurate and I check every morning before noon to see how I did. You can get a card reader and software if you wan...

Re: Is my machine data capable enough
Hmm, I noted that the Blower hours did not sync with the average session times, etc. Is that what you mean by not accurate on the screen? I will check out how to get a card reader, thanks.

Re: New to CPAP, my initial problems, any ideas?
Some people just can't stand C-Flex - the way C-Flex varies the pressure confuses their breathing, they try to synch with the C-Flex, the C-Flex in its turn tries to synch with them, and the result is a mess called breath stacking - and a (justified) sense of choking. C-Flex simply doesn't work for...

Re: Just got my new machine!
In the first two days I tried to disconnect the the mask hose from the rest of the hose and pulled on the wrong side, I stretched it out pretty bad but didn't break it. When I went in to buy a insulating hose cover I told them what I did and they just handed me a new one, no charge.

Is my machine data capable enough
I just got my machine (see sig) a week ago, and while it has a chip in a card that slots in, I can't see most of the data on it via the machine's interface. I can see blower hours vs. actual therapy hours (useful), but I can't see any apneas or anything else I might be having. I think the data is ju...

Re: I have a weird Dr.
Call the other two sleep specialists, explain your problem, and ask if they'd be willing to have order a copy of your sleep study and write you an appropriate prescription off of that. Your current doc is completely capable of writing the script without you if he has your study and the calibration, ...
