Re: Poll: Where are you from?
As i was born in England I consider myself to be from (made in) Europe according to your poll. Because i still have an English accent many Americans ask me if I'm from Australia So I tell them I'm from England. However I have lived in the US for 20 years now but not where I am from. Are there not to...

Re: Not Using Distilled Water?
I still buy, tap water here is over 25 grains in hardness although i do have a water softener I'm not sure what that takes it down too. At 79 cents a gallon which last weeks its worth the convenience of having the bottle next to my nightstand rather than wondering off to the bathroom to fill the tan...

Re: Help - first time was horrible
Thanks for the welcome! My diagnostic test was one night at home with a monitor that was a watch attached to a finger monitor. Based on that they gave me the machine to take home which apparently has fixed settings for anyone (starting at a 4 and going up as needed based on your breathing or lack t...

Re: Help - first time was horrible
Thanks! Fingers crossed I can access the set up menu... the nasal pillow is a small - is there a rule of thumb for how to determine if the fit is right or is it just personal preference? Hello and welcome, I assume that you had two nights in the sleep lab, one for the study itself and then one for ...

TouchPoint solution for getting to sleep
I wonder if anyone has any experience with the TouchPoint solution? aka "buzzies", neurological devices which they claim help you to fall asleep. https://thetouchpointsolution.com TouchPoints™ utilize proven Bi-lateral Alternating Stimulant Tactile (BLAST) technology to help you fall asleep. Proven ...

Re: Can cpap cause neck problems?
And your post is about your neck? I've had your symptoms and it was all about anxiety, just something to consider.Rainmom17 wrote: (For some reason I'm having problems with dizziness, poor balance, and unsteadiness on my feet.)

ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset. Set 5-20 (supposed to be changed to 7, but my pulmonologist's office is worse than useless if you're not there in person. I guess I could bump it up. I have the exhale relief set to 3, if memory serves. Sorry i just noticed this. Do you mean by supposed to be changed to ...

Re: Will I have to shave my beard?
Mask seals are made of silicon and in your case will wear down sooner covering a beard over time. Consider your age and mask/seal replacement costs for the rest of your life then your stubble/beard/vanity is potentially going to cost you big time.

Re: CPAP and Anxiety
Are you using any kind of software such as sleepyhead to monitor your therapy? Along with your leaks and AHI being in check is your respiratory rate between 12-25 breaths per minute? Anxiety and stress are sleep killers we all know that. I have Xanax 0.25mg for urgent use and Buspirone 30mg for dail...

Re: Dry throat and nose. What should i adjust?
I'm not sure what the dreamstation settings mean, but I set mine to 8 out of 8, it's just dry as heck where I live, and the automated humidity doesn't seem to recognize that. To me at least the automated humidity setting is completely useless. With the humidity here, occaisionally even the highest ...

I wonder how much weight these add to the hose. I don't think I'd like a heavy hose.

Re: RemZzzs mask liner fail - worse than no cpap at all
The Quattro is a dance with the devil. I tried multiple sizes and various liners. I could never get it to stop leaking. Mind you everyone is different but I always found that the liners made leaks worse.

Re: Taping!
I used a 3m brand tape and never had any issues with it. I used a piece wider than my mouth so I could fold over one end to make a tab should I need to remove it quickly.

Re: Inexpensive CPAP?
The S8 is on its way, with the H4i humidifier and a slimline hose with the resmed zipper cover. The machine has 1400 hours. Less than a years usage. The pressure is set to auto 6cm - 16cm. No EPR. Forget about the shipping cost.
