You might try different chin straps. I have some TMJ issues. If the strap pulls my jaw back and not just straight up, I get pretty sore by the morning (really in about an hour). I had to try a couple before I found one that worked. They all put pressure on the jaw slightly differently.

Re: Scuba Divers and OSA
I actually teach diving and own a dive shop. I really had no problems adjusting. I started out with a full face mask but now have the nasal mask. They only thing that made me change from the quattro was that is was destroying the bridge of my nose. Being an avid diver, I am used to both having a mas...

Sealing the Swift LT
I think I finally found the secret (at least for me). When I was first fitted it seemed that the medium pillows fit the best. The large were just a bit too wide. I have slightly slotted nares, so when I got the pillows to seal, it didn't take much to get the seal to break. This would wake me up at n...

Re: Newbie - Where do I start?
I am on my third week. I was exactly where you are now. Getting yourself educated is a perfect start. Once you read the newbie post, check to see which DME's your insurance works with. Do a query here to find recommendations of local DME's (I see you are from texas, if you are in the dallas area, I ...

Switched Masks
My quattro that the DME put me in worked for almost 2 weeks. My nose bridge got a little sore at the beginning, then It was fine, but overnight it ballooned on me (I look like I got punched in the nose). My nose bridge is fairly steep (when not swollen) and I couldn't keep the quattro loose enough l...

Re: Getting ready for my first night
Numbers, man, I need Numbers!!! Ok, these are from memory and just from the display Leak Rate 33l/m (its around here somewhere Again I am going from memory here, I looked on the mask leak rate and it seemed inline with that) AHI 7.1 (started out at 20 in the PSG, so down, but not perfect) Min = 8, ...

Re: Getting ready for my first night
Well, I made it through, not the best sleep. Was trying to fine tune the mask fit. I tend to turn from side to side at night and sometimes it would start to leak. Because I am a mouth breather as well, I tend to drool. once I got enough, it would leak in the corners of my mouth. Had to wipe it out a...

Re: Side effects of too much / too little Co2
Its interesting how different aspect of your life can overlap. I teach Scuba Diving as well. For diving we are also concerned about both hyper and hypo-capnia. For most people, the breathing reflex is triggered by high levels of carbon dioxide in the blood (people with COPD, and other chronic lung p...

Getting ready for my first night
Its been a hectic day. I had my appt with the doc. I explained to him that I thought an APAP was more appropriate because the titration study ended up with only 2 hours of sleep. He was not sure what the difference was between a CPAP and APAP (he's a GP not a sleep doc). When I explained the differe...

Re: Introduction
Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. I'll keep you posted tomorrow after the visit with the doc. The next will be the DME. I've searched the forum and see a few that people have had luck with in the DFW area so will try them first (two are not far from the house).

Introduction
I have been lurking for a couple weeks. I had a PSG and titration about a month ago. I have an appt with my doc tomorrow to get the script for a xPAP. The information I found here has been invaluable to arm me with information. I requested the results from the sleep lab, and know what to ask for in ...
