My personal experience - the Intellipap is much quieter then a Remstar M series or an S8 autoset I.
I haven't had the opportunitty to try an Autoset II to see if it is quiter than an Autoset I.

Re: new lighter batteries, any good?
Thanks for your input. Datracer 99, did you ever check the actual output voltage from the batteries you got off Ebay? What batteries did you get? Sometimes the voltage stated is just approximate and if these batteries are not regulated then they probably put out 11.1volt. What do the usual machines...

Re: new lighter batteries, any good?
I recently purchased 2 x 12v 4500maH Li-Ion batteries off fleabay. They are supposed to be for use with surveillance cameras. They have discharge protection to stop them running at high current loads, and to stop supplying power when they drop to 10.5 volts. I linked them in parallel and tested them...

Re: REQ: Provider setup mode for the DeVilbiss Intellipap?
Has anyone worked out how to set the time on the intellipap. I suspect it has to be done via the smart card, but I haven't found that particular setting yet.

Re: Demineralised Water
I only started using the humidifier recently, on a low setting. I have been using a demineraliser, as I was just given one for the iron (thanks mum ) , and didn't have any distilled water handy. I would not expect any calcium build up while using this, so it solves that problem. I haven't noticed an...

Re: CPAP and Hotels
I always pack a power strip and also a relatively short heavy-duty extension cord (you never know where there's going to be an open outlet!). I'm not sure why you need a "heavy duty" extension cord. Most CPAPs don't draw much current. Just look at the power cord supplied with the machine. I have ma...

Re: DeVilbiss Smartlink report abbreviations
I've just been reviewing my data, and M is not "Non responsive" - I have no events in the M row during ramp, but I have an NRI of 1.4 per hour.
And it's not leaks as far as I can see. I have 4 "M" events which don't correspond with the leak line.

Re: Travel CPAP Machine Questions
I was very keen on the intellipap because of the low noise levels.I'm only on 10cm, and the techs said I should be able to live without EPR, so I turned off EPR on the Resmed rental machine and, as long as I use ramp, I had no problems. As SleepyInIndy posted above, give it a try. You are on a low p...

Re: power failure and feeling of suffocation
What CPAP do you have? Do you use a humidifier? The Everest and the Intellipap both switch automatically to 12v supply if the mains power fails, though I'm not sure if the Intellipap humidifier will work on 12v. The everest definitely will. If the CPAP doesn't have an automatic feature then a comput...

Re: Muscle relaxants: should I be careful now?
I asked my sleep doc about alcohol and sleeping tablets (OSA plus Insomnia is a real curse) which are both a no-no with untreated apnea. He had no issue using either, his advice was that while on the CPAP neither will have a material effect on the treatment. Of course you don't want to overdo it, bu...

Re: REMStarPlus M Series - Can you shut off the LEDs?
Just thought I would add that, as the proud owner of a a Devilbiss Intellipap, the lights on the buttons are nicely muted compared to the M series. They are bright enough to find the buttons in the dark, but not so bright they annoy me. No need to put anything over them, and they brighten up for a w...

Re: REMStarPlus M Series - Can you shut off the LEDs?
I wondered the same thing. I used a piece of cardboard to cover them, but it kept ending up on the floor when I hit ramp or power
I would not by an M series because the LEDs annoyed me so much. They are 10 x brighter than Resmed or Intellipap.

CPAP.COM + UPS = Great service.
After assessing the various CPAPs for sale i decided to buy an Intellipap. The online price with modukle and sfotware was $200 less than i could buy just the CPAP for locally, hence why I wanted to buy online. As I have an Australian prescription I wanted to be sure that the online sites in the US w...

Re: Cheap battery backup idea
Thanks Bill, interesting charts. Looks like it would require 2 sets of D cells to get through the night - bu that depends on the currnet drain of the CPAP
Woody what CPAP do you have. There is a quite a difference in the requirements with the different brands.

Re: cpap and dreams
Before CPAP you may not have been getting into REM sleep every night, so no dreams to remember.
I suspect this was the case for me. My sleep was so disrupted that I wasn't dreaming every night.
I am aware of having more dreams now that I'm on CPAP.
