Re: Anyone else sensitive to flow loss with humidifier?
From a pure physics (pneumatics) perspective, air pressure and flow vary in direct relationship to one another. That is, if the pressure is increased across an orifice the flow rate through the orifice will correspondingly increase. As for the S9 and/or any CPAP / APAP, the small sized blowers under...

Re: Anyone else sensitive to flow loss with humidifier?
I had the reverse happen to me, that is, slightly reduced air flow with the H5i humidifier connected. Personally, I much prefer the air flow characteristics with the humidifier connected. During the summer, I’ve been using the S9 AutoSet with the H5i humidifier and a standard sized hose. I recently ...

SleepyHead Glossary
I can't seem to pull up the SleepyHead Glossary by using the links provided in various posts. Has the Glossary perhaps been moved elsewhere? Then again, the problem may be at my end?

Re: ResScan Software Download
I’m awaiting the arrival of the S9 AutoSet that I just purchased as a long overdue replacement for my aging REMstar ('Tank') Auto and Respironics M Series Auto. Needless to say I'm very excited to start using the AutoSet. I've been reading the various posts to get up to speed on being able to view t...

Re: HOW TO TELL HOURS OF USE OF CPAP MACHINE??
I have the M-Series Auto with A-Flex. When I do a reset, both the user hours and blower hours on the user menu are reset. But if I go into the clinical menu there's a separate blower hours number listed that is not reset. Be sure & check it in the clinical menu. @danw61: With regard to the "user me...

Re: HOW TO TELL HOURS OF USE OF CPAP MACHINE??
@danw61: Hey, thanks alot. I was unaware that after going into the Provider / Clinician's setup that I could reset the 7-day and 30-day averages from the Therapy Usage Screen. Very useful. I also understand, and have since confirmed, that resetting the 'averages' DOES NOT reset the blower hours and/...

Re: Checking Blower Motor Hours on Remstar ‘Tank’ Model?
It’s encouraging to hear that you got about 4.5 years of use from your Pro. I’d be happy with that, although for a piece of medical equipment I’d sure like to see 5-7 years with say 6 years (approx 17520 hours) as the average. I see there’s an ongoing thread about this very topic: http://www.cpaptal...

Re: M Series Conundrum & Thoughts on Replacement CPAP
Jim, I think the 'light just went on'. Previously, I assumed that if my APAP was set to a min = 4 and a max of 14, which yields a pressure range of 11, that the APAP would work in a narrow range anyway centered around the average and 90% pressure. However, what I'm now understanding is that this aut...

Re: Checking Blower Motor Hours on Remstar ‘Tank’ Model?
Thanks everyone. Although I have very limited experience using the 'Classic Tank', I recall really liking the loaner I used for a few daya. In fact, I agonized about whether to start my CPAP therapy journey with the 'Classic Tank' or with the newer M Series that came out about the time I purchased m...

Re: M Series Conundrum & Thoughts on Replacement CPAP
Since you have had a data machine all this time, have you gotten the program and reader so you can tell what's up with your treatment? That would be and was my first project. Also it the "Classics both work OK, and are affordable, I'd get them both, that would cover any problem with repairs, and al...

Re: M Series Conundrum & Thoughts on Replacement CPAP
Robert, I may be off base here, but you said all was well until you replaced your machine with a like machine. However, this one is louder with Vader Breath and your treatment has degraded. Are you sure it is truly the same? It is APAP with C-Flex but not A-Flex, right? All settings including C-Fle...

Checking Blower Motor Hours on Remstar ‘Tank’ Model?
This is a three-part question: 1) Is it possible to verify the blower motor lifetime hours on the Remstar Auto CPAP with C-Flex ‘tank’ model? I'm guessing that accumulated blower hours are available in one of the maintenance mode screens? 2) If so, what is the key sequence to accomplish this? If thi...

Thanks for the comment.
Fortunately, the 2 used Remstar 'tank' machines I'm considering come fully equipped, including humidifier.
