Re: At what AHI did you start feeling great?
That is a neat list. I may be having a visit to "hotel oregon" soon, so I printed this list for reference. Thanks.

Re: At what AHI did you start feeling great?
I felt better the first month. Don't know if that qualifies as "great" or not, but much improved. And that was with a temporary setting of 8 from the sleep doctor. After titration it moved to 11. Many factors are involved. Hope you find good results sooner rather than later.

The thread may be ten years old, but it was really nice to have Rested Gal on the forum again. She is missed.

Re: Happy 10th Birthday/Anniversary CPAPTalk!!!
I have been visiting this forum for five of the ten years it has been running. Found it by accident, but it has been a lifesaver. Thanks to Cpap.com for providing a wonderful service to literally thousands.

Re: Still crazy after all these years.
Glad you posted. Good to hear from folk who were on the forum when I began -- and many of them no longer post. I guess when we first begin on the forum (and cpap therapy) so much is new and we know so little that we hold people on this forum in awe. At least I did. It is interesting how we develop s...

Re: Mirage Liberty vs Hybrid by inomed
I can't give a really fair report, because I got a Liberty with a backup machine I bought. (used). I tried to make it work because I liked the concept. When I decided to put it away because it didn't work, I ordered the Hybrid. I thought there was a pretty good learning curve in getting it set up, b...

Re: Have you switched to either the S9 or the System One?
I started with the Respironics M series five years ago. I got my new System One the middle of February. I really like it. It is quiet, and my therapy has improved with the new machine. One difference is that with the old machine, there was just apnea and hypopnea, so the AHI was simple the two ingre...

Re: What about system one filters?
Thanks, pbriggs-- that's a good tip. I am placing an order today. BTW I am using the simplus mask now and loving it. Actually my numbers weren't that great at the first, but getting better. I guess it takes some time to get adjusted to a new mask.

Re: What about system one filters?
Thanks for the replies. I am just a month into using the System One, and am only using the black filter. I wasn't comfortable without using the white filter, but two techs said just the black one was adequate. I wash the filter every Saturday, but will order the white filters and use both. I use the...

What about system one filters?
I am switching over from the Series M Respironics apap to the System one. I really like it, but wonder about the filters. Is the black filter the same size and interchangeable? And the DME (Apria) didn't recommend using the white filter along with the black one. Those of you who have this apap -- do...

Re: Why Am I having late apneas?
Improvement!!! I increased the lower pressure from 10 to 10.5. I increased the upper pressure from 15 to 16. My results last night were better -- AHI of 1.0 (A- 0.7, H- 0.3) My 90% was 12.0 The pressure didn't go above 13, and then for only 1.7 minutes. Largest part of the night was at 11.0 So-- tha...

Re: Why Am I having late apneas?
I'll take a look at my charts. I'm using Encore 1.1. And yes -- an "M" machine. I have hopes of getting an S9 soon. Will that help? The three nights I listed have a 90% of 12, 13, 11. It has hit the 15 top limit some, so I am wondering about moving that up a notch. The M machine only increases by .5...

Why Am I having late apneas?
I have been lax in keeping up to date on my sleep apnea. Recently returned to following it, and wonder why I am having apneas shortly before arising. Three nights ago I had an AHI 3.0; 1.8 A, 1.1 H, but was relatively free of events until after 7 hours sleep and then had several apneas. Two nights a...

Full sleep study report needed for Medicare/Apria
Here in Portland, Oregon we are part of the new "Competitive Bidding Program for certain Durable Medical Equipment" for Medicare coverage. The supplier where I got my cpap supplies didn't win the bid, so I have to switch companies. I'm trying Apria. The documentation that has worked for five years i...

Re: What is the blood abnormality seen with OSA?
Before being diagnosed with severe sleep apnia, I was undergoing all kinds of tests to find why I was suffering fatigue. At one point, my red blood count was over normal and my doctor suspected Polycythemia vera and sent me to a hematologist. When she tested my blood, it was at a normal level. I can...
