drool in mask ..yuck!
I recently tried to start wearing my mask again. I actually wore it for almost 3 hours last night. When I woke up for a restroom break I took the mask off. I was laying on my back and dumped a mask full of saliva on my face. I almost gagged. I just rinsed it out and hung it up to dry. I couldn't wea...

Re: gastric distention and vomiting
I didn't change the pressure settings. The only bedding I used was a sheet and it was only half covering me. I often have problems with the mask sitting right. Sometimes it's loose, sometimes it's so tight it hurts. I also realized I am using a different pillow. I didn't use the mask last night and ...

gastric distention and vomiting
Went to bed with my mask on. I took it off as is the usual habit, about 30 minutes later. I woke up again about 1:30, put it on, and went to bed. I woke up an hour later feeling strange. I pulled the mask off and sat up. I noticed I had a lot - I mean *a lot* of air in my abdomen. I couldn't tell if...

yanking off the mask in my sleep
About 30 minutes to an hour after I fall asleep I wake up. My machine is on, the mask is off and laying next to me. The straps aren't loosened which tells me I'm pulling the mask off unconsciuosly. Anyone else have this problem? Should I duct tape it to my head or what?

lips going to sleep... no seriously
I'm a noob at this CPAP so bear with me. I have a full face mask, with the humidity set at 1 of 5. Pressure is at 9. With my new machine I notice that about 15 minutes into therapy my lips start getting cold and tingly. It's enough to wake me up. The discomfort is enough for me to take off the mask....

Re: suffocating with full face mask
Thanks to all who replied. I did get a Respironics M-Series with C-flex. It goes well with the mask I already had. The individual I bought it from was a former vendor of respiratory equipment and was looking to liquidate his stock, so I got a good deal. He even set my pressure too. The C-flex makes ...

Re: suffocating with full face mask
Thanks Wulfman. I'll try that. Meanwhile I'm searching for a new CPAP machine. From what I read Respironics C-Flex is the more preferred exhale relief option.
Since I prefer to program the machine myself, does Respironics allow users to set their own pressure settings?

Re: suffocating with full face mask
Thanks for the help. I did try turning the ramp off. I had the CPAP on the full pressure of 9. I tried laying on my back, and on my side, with my mouth closed, with my mouth open. Unfortunately the result was the same. I noticed that I was exerting a lot of effort just to exhale. It's like I'm breat...

suffocating with full face mask
I just started using cpap. I was looking forward to using it and was amazed at how better I slept when they calibrated my therapy pressure in the sleep lab. At home it's a different story. I'll fall asleep and wake up about 30 minutes later. I feel the air pressure is blowing enough air in, but then...
