? for those that have changed their CPAP pressure
I am currently seeking my optimal CPAP pressure. When you change your pressure settings, how long does it take your body to get used to it and achieve your optimal AHI at that pressure level? I started at 6 cm H20, and was having AHI of 7-10. After bumping it to 7.2, which I kept it at for a couple ...

Have you had success using an autopap for retitrating?
Hi, Currently using resmed elite II with humidfier, the new resmed nasal pillow mask, and a set pressure of 7cm water. My AHI most nights is 5-7, leak anywhere from 0.02l/m to 0.25l/m. My main issue to begin with was UARS (33 arousals/hour on sleep study). Been on continuous positive airway pressure...

Re: How low are you numbers with swift lt? Help me improve!
looks like I may have to try that. When I first started therapy, I used to arrange the hose almost identically to what you describe. I will report back tomorrow....

Re: How low are you numbers with swift lt? Help me improve!
I actually do route the hose over my head using the hose attachment-I find that done right, it positions the pillows for a perfect seal while keeping the pressure off your upper lip and teeth. I route my cpap tubing over the top of a light fixture as well, so it is coming at me from higher up. still...

Re: How low are you numbers with swift lt? Help me improve!
That is an idea, and I have thought about it....have not tried a different one yet. I was so hellbent on getting this therapy perfect because I am 23 years old and refuse to let this impact my life if I am at all able to solve it, that after side and stomach sleeping for 22 years, I learned to sleep...

How low are you numbers with swift lt? Help me improve!
hi, I posted a little over a week ago about numbers for "normals" and looking for ways to improve my numbers. With an average AI of ~1, and an average HI of about 5-6, and an average leak rate of 0.3L/sec with a swift LT, regular chin strap, on a resmed elite II and H3i humidifier, I decided to tack...

Re: data for a "normal" person
sounds like I will plan on tackling the leak for now. I used to have a chinstrap that looks like this: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41718zffLJL._SL500_AA280_.jpg It made my face sweat and was wayyy too big. This is the main problem I have; I have a very small head. When I wear a hat, I wear...

Re: data for a "normal" person
thanks for the responses! My average for this month, which is fairly typical, is AI: 1.0 and HI: 6.0 leak 0.3L/s. What is fairly constant looking through my data on my machine is the leak, which has always been 0.3L/s. I used to tape, now I don't, I just use a chin strap. Maybe I will try taping aga...

I am 23, and have been on it for a year. I am very active, very lean, and have no clue why I ended up with apnea!

data for a "normal" person
I am 23 years old, physically fit (BMI 21), exercise a few days a week, eat a mostly vegan diet with small amounts of fish, meat and diary weekly. I sleep 9 hours if at all possible, and use my CPAP religiously. As a student in the healthcare field, my health is invaluable to me, and I am trying to ...

question about swift LT and mouthleaks
I have been using CPAP comfortably for a few months now, and want to make sure I get the full benefit from therapy. I am 23 years old and a lifetime mouthbreather, partially due to allergies. I use the swift LT, and CPAP seemed to clear my nose pretty well; I dont have any trouble breathing through ...

Alpha Intrusion Information
I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about alpha intrusion ( found on both my sleep studies ). I find it very tough to find information for it on the internet, so if anyone has any good websites or books they could send me links to it would be greatly appreciated. I do not have any sort of chr...

Re: 2 months in and really need advice
thanks for the advice so far. I just got my iron Rx filled, and will be careful with it. I called my very knowledgable DME, who is also a fellow CPAPer, and he said with the swift LT pillows a leak of 3.6L/min is very acceptable. when I use the mask fit button on my elite II it always says excellent...

Re: 2 months in and really need advice
I edited my post to add my setup: resmed Elite II with humidifier, swift LT mask with nasal pillows, pressure set at 6, and I tape my mouth at night and have almost no leaking

2 months in and really need advice
I am 22 yo make with extreme daytime fatigue, I cannot stay awake in classes, fall asleep easily in the car, have to try very hard to stay alert when driving, and no matter how much sleep I get I am exhausted when I wake up. 1st sleep study: Diagnosed with UARS and not given a CPAP 2nd sleep study m...
