Re: Citris Wipes versus mild soap washing
So the Alcohol dosnt hurt the seal in any way? I have access to thousands of alcohol pads. Silicone absorbs most organic compounds, changing the mechanical properties of the seal and possibly causing it to degrade faster. Having said that, most polar compounds (including water and alcohols) are not...

Re: gluing the mask on
To hopper, could the oils from my face do the same thing to the mask? I have quite a grease-face and I don't wash the mask in the morning. I just leave it until the evening and then wash it right before bed. The mask does seem to get thicker and thicker and less sticky over time (even when I have n...

Re: gluing the mask on
The seal on your mask is made out of a silicone-based polymer. The more scientific name for it is polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). The acidic smell someone mentioned is when silicone is used in caulking (like to seal around your windows or bathtub). One of the curing agents commonly used in caulking is ...

Re: Another newbie from Canadia
You say that you don't meet ADP's criteria for an APAP, but your first post indicated that your Doctor was willing to write you a script for APAP. It's the Doctor who has to fill out the ADP forms; has he changed his mind on APAP for you? Have you asked him? Yes the doc has to fill out the forms, b...

Re: Another newbie from Canadia
That "Canadia" may be a typo. Nope, it was meant to be funny: Canadia: Noun. The way Canada should logically be spelled, if its residents are to be referred to as "Canadians". Example: A: We were speaking to some Canadians. B: Oh, and where do they come from. A: Canadia, obviously. I don't necessar...

Re: Another newbie from Canadia
Hi from another newly-diagnosed, now SLEEPING Ontarian. The ADP will cover 75% of the *approved* price for a CPAP or APAP machine. I just spoke to my supplier on Monday - the approved price for an APAP is higher than the approved price for a CPAP (or so they say), so the amount paid for an APAP is ...

Re: ResMed Card Reader differences?
Bill, thanks for your response, I had already found your pictures on another thread and i think what you've done is brilliant! "based on marking out a ResScan card that was aligned to be correctly recognised by AutoScan" I think there's something stunningly obvious that i'm missing, but i still don'...

Another newbie from Canadia
First off I'd like to say what a wonderful forum this is. Its just jammed full ultra-supportive people with really useful information. I've been diagnosed with 'moderate' apnea....still trying to figure out what that means. All i know is my wife complains of me periodically stopping breathing and th...

Re: Intro from newbie in Canada
With my group plan, Great-West covers 100% of the xPAP equipment up to a maximum of $2,000. The equipment listed in my profile was billed to me at $2,038 by VitalAire... so I paid $38. Funny how VitalAire wanted to load me up with supplies right off the bat... 2 masks, 2 hoses, 5 year supply of fil...

Re: ResMed Card Reader differences?
The Resmed supplied ACR-38 comes with a moulded card guide to align the ResScan card. With a standard ACR-38 you need to make your own card guide (which I've previously PM'd you about). Otherwise they are electronically identical. Cheers, Bill Hi Bill, It seems like you have gotten this card reader...
