Re: Help with a sore nose

I, also, am a faithful and proud user of the PADACHEEK nose protector. It has made all the difference in the world for me. The thinner version works fine so I won't take someone else's slot for evaluating the thicker one, but I recommend anyone with nose bridge issues to get one.

Re: Newby software question.

I agree with that advice and opinion. I faithfully (my wife would say "compulsively") check my data every morning. I find it very interesting to see when my mask leaks are occurring, how long my apneas are lasting and when they are occurring, and those are things you get from the software and card r...

Re: PAPCap Video

Interesting. I have to admit that wearing my Quattro has been, at times, a challenge. It's like a balancing act between keeping too much pressure off the bridge of my nose yet sealing it effectively from leaks; to keeping too much pressure off my cheeks and chin so that the seal will inflate, yet ha...

Re: Some Nights Are Just Harder Than Others

Good morning, Ruby, After over two years on XPAP therapy, I have come to the conclusion that you go through some GREAT periods when there are no or low mask leaks, your pressure stays ahead of your AHI and, not only does the data show that you slept great, but you feel great in the morning and all d...

Re: PAPCap Video

Great Video, Brett! Very informative and detailed. I noticed at the end that you quickly demonstrated how a full face mask is applied over the PAPCAP assembly. I always thought the PAPCaps were for those who used nasal masks in order to keep their mouths closed during therapy. What benefit might be ...

Away From Home with S8 Autoset II

I'm leaving to go out of state this weekend and will not be home until next weekend. I won't have the ability to review my nightly detailed data until I return home. If I download my data to the smartcard each morning when I awake and then read the card when I get back home home at the end of the we...

Re: Passing Out

Just out of curiosity, do you take a lot of aspirin? If so, has anyone looked at your blood to see how much is in your system. This problem sounds very, very similar to one a gentleman I know had several years ago. All the tests in the world turned up nothing. He finally self-diagnosed (imagine that...

Re: Is it me or Resmed???

I'm not well versed on the algorythms, although I understand the basics, however, I wouldn't trade my S8 Autsoet II for anything. Once I had the pressure set to the appropriate starting level and the mask sealing well, I not only felt great most mornings when I woke up, but my numbers were terrific,...

Re: Clarification ... Apnea Suppression Pressure

I can speak from firsthand experience on this topic. My APAP pressure range was initally set by my RT at 10-20cm. I was titrated at 13 originally, then a year later lowered to 12cm. For the first few months I had my APAP (after having switched from straight CPAP after 2 years) I had AIs around 5-9 p...

Re: resMed Mirage quattro cushion tear

I have used the MIrage Quattro (3 of them in fact) for over 2 years and have never had a tear. I have sanitary wipes (non-alcohol) that I wipe the cushion with, inside and out, without taking the mask apart. I do that in the mornings after each use. Once a month (usually at the end of the month) I t...

Re: Arrgghh! APAP not working for me evidently!

Although it is much less common than OSA, your apneas could be what is referred to as "central apneas" and not caused by obstruction of your airway. You might type "central apnea" in the search box above and read what you find.

Re: CPAP Presurre

Hi, allsys; welcome to the forum! It would really help if you could go to the under control panel (upper left hand corner of the home page) and update your user profile. That will tell us what type of CPAP machine you are using, the mask you have, etc. There's plenty of good advice and experience he...
