Based on my wife's recommendation, I now clean my face thoroughly with a cotton ball and Clinique Cleanser before bed. All of the red irritation disappeared.
If I've been to the pistol range that evening, it's amazing how much "black" comes off on the cottonball though it never shows on my face.

Re: Took a nap - woke up choking
I have found after 8 months on CPAP that if I remove the mask during the night (I have no clue as to why) I will be awakened with that choking sensation. I suspect that as the body acclimates to CPAP it doesn't fight as hard against apnea as it once did. As for GERD and this may be a little off trac...

Re: Drying the hose?
The humidity (Water) goes in your lungs, so what's the dif? Think of those droplets in the hose as a passive humidification system.newname wrote:I'd want to remove the water so it doesn't go into my lungs

Re: What Sleep aid?..Non-respiratory depressant
I have been a chronic insomniac for most of my life but my bedtime regimen which works well for me is Trazadone 50 mg (Rx) Melatonin 3mg Chlorpheniramine 4mg That and my new Mirage Activa mask and I sleep like a baby (albeit an OLD one.) I tried trazodone .... and it reacts the opposite way for me....

I realize that this is an old post, but how did that work for you...the UPS?
This is the way I power my office phone switch, but would it have the "juice" to run a CPAP all night long if the power were to die?

Re: Aromatherapy
I'm glad that I joined. I've been dumping Eucalyptus and Lavendar oils directly into the Distilled Water every night for the last 4 months. Maybe that's why I cough so much
I just ordered the PurSleep beginner pack and will use it as an external aroma.

Where do all of the numbers come from?
I'm new here and have been using a Respironics M-Series for about 4 or 5 months. In numerous posts here, people quote their AI, HI, Leak, etc. numbers. Where are they getting those numbers? When I flip the top door on my machine, there is essentially a screen that tells me the average hours of useag...

Re: I can't get myself to use the machine.
It took me several months to get comfortable with cpap. I tried numerous masks. The Godsend for me was when I purchased the Resmed Mirage Activa Mask.
The difference was immediate and amazing. I now get a solid 8 each night.
Stick with it but I think that the key is a great mask.

Re: Newbie First Nite On Cpap
I have been on CPAP for about 4 months now and constantly battled with Mask Issues. I have a Respironics M Series with Heated Humidifier. I recently purchased a Resmed Mirage Activa http://cpapplus.com/CPAP_Masks/CPAP_Masks/Mirage%20Activa/Mirage_Activa.html and it has changed everything for me. I p...
