I've not had much luck with Advair or Singulair - they both give me muscle spasms that are far worse than the bronchitis & sinus problems could ever dream of.
I've pretty much resigned myself that its just the way I am.

Re: Sinus infections with CPAP machine Help!
For me the answer has been to take antibiotics several times a year when the sinus infection gets so bad that bronchitis develops. This sounds discouraging, but it's just been all that my doctor and I have found that works. In fairness, I was prone to these infections before CPAP therapy but they g...

Re: Sinus problems with a twist...
I do have allergies, but as you said, not bad ones. I've tried meds like Singulair & Advair, but I have severe side effects from them. In fact, I cannot use most medications for allergies because they cause my lungs to dry out too much and it triggers my asthma. The only thing that worked well for m...

Sinus problems with a twist...
I've got a problem and need some advice... After 20 some odd years of dormancy, my asthma has come back this year with a passion. I keep it pretty well controlled, until I get a sinus infection. Once I have a sinus infection, I automatically get bronchitis, which sets off the asthma for the next few...

Re: Lose ground if I take a night off?
As one newbie to another, don't start skipping nights. Skipping one night will eventually lead to skipping two nights and then on and on. Since a good mask is key to therapy, I encourage you to try some of the other masks before deciding to give up. I spent the first month fighting with one mask or ...

Re: Swollen Uvula
Isn't that the darndest feeling? Mine swelled up once when I had a bad case of Strep throat and I thought it would drive me batty before it returned to normal. Trust me - it will return to normal soon.

Re: Pain in my neck
You might want to check the tension on your mask. I was having similar neck & shoulder pain because the lower straps were too tight from trying to keep a seal. I switched to the UM Quattro in the correct size and am free from neck pain.

Re: Call For Feedback: Delete Spam Button + New CPAPtalkers
I've no opinion whatsoever about the spam button. I agree that there should be some sort of limit placed on the ability to delete posts, but lack a good idea to do that. I'm a former member of a local camping forum that was torn apart because a moderator would delete posts that he did not agree with...

Re: My Favorite Mask Game.....is this the norm?
I was at the DME getting my third mask and the tech was telling me that one of his clients has 12 masks that he rotates through!
If I had more $$$, I'd probably have a couple to switch through.

Re: Bah! My used "a-flex" is a "plus".
It's been two weeks since my "urgent" sleep study, and they still haven't scored it. And I hardly slept in the study and never entered REM, so when they bother to score it...they're just going to want to start over from scratch. Idiots! Maybe I'll get a prescription in another couple months. I hear...

Now that you mention it, I'm not waking up with a headache as often either. Used to be a common thing for me. Also I have been more outgoing & talkative than usual. The boss noticed that one at work last week.

Things I've noticed since starting CPAP...
Since starting CPAP, I've noticed some other effects other than just feeling better. 1) No more night sweats! I have always had trouble with sweating when I sleep, but since starting CPAP I have been able to wear the same set of pajamas for more than one night. There were times that I would have to ...

Re: Leaky mask driving me nuts
KSMike, In the same boat on the mask here. I can usually fiddle with them a bit and get a pretty good fit. Right now, I've got the top strap fairly loose and the angle set at 1 notch from full straight up and down. I'm still needing the lower straps tighter than I'd like, but I'm working on it. Clea...
