Re: Telling youg children why you have a cpap
My kids are 10,9, 7 and 2, and it was no big deal. I was worried they would think it was weird (I did), but the 7 year old thought it was super-cool. He even tried it out. Now he wants one of his own......

Re: How many have had surgey and are still on cpap?
Well....I actually just had the surgery 11 days ago. I've been on cpap for the last six months. I've been using the Swift For Her and just switched to the Comfort Full 2 while recovering from surgery. What made me decide to do it? 1. I am relatively young and in good shape (38 yr old female, avid ru...

Why does my nasal aire make so much noise when I breathe? It seems really loud. Any suggestions?? Like....um...start a new thread, I suspect!

Re: OT: True Mom Confessions
Oh. My. Gosh. YES!! How could I forget about that?? (Easy, actually....we don't have any events until May....but I have a pile of petticoats and shirts next to the ironing board....just calling my name.) Yikes. As a matter of fact, that reminds me of WHY you don't see a million families with small c...

Re: OT: True Mom Confessions
Mom of four here..... ....I TOTALLY let the dog eat the kid's vomit, more times than I can count..... ....I can only keep one level of my house clean at a time. That means if the downstairs is clean, don't even think about going upstairs. ....I have locked myself in the bathroom multiple times..... ...

Hmmmm....that may have to be my next try-out. I hate having straps of any kind on my head. Blech.

Re: Good therapy / Bags under the eyes?
This may sound crazy, but I have far, far FEWER allergies since starting cpap. I used to wake up every morning sneezing with a runny nose, and now....nothing. No idea what made the difference....maybe sleeping with filtered air?

Getting ready to try the Nasal Aire tonight...any tips?
I've been using the Swift LT for her, which is fine and dandy, and I've been happy. No problems whatsoever. But since I've never shied away from looking a gift horse in the mouth, I thought, OK, things are good....but could they be BETTER??? Let me introduce you to my vain side: I hate the way my ha...

Re: Did you feel better right away???
I've been on cpap for about two months now, and I have noticed a difference: I no longer fall asleep in the middle of the afternoon. It's like I have several more hours of useful time available now, so that's good. I also don't fall asleep in front of the tv in the evenings. In fact, I don't even fe...

I have the M Series Pro, the Smart ...

I just wanted to say ditto to what everyone else said. Hopefully maybe the novelty of harassing you about it will wear off eventually- sending you lots of positive thoughts!

Re: CPAP fell on floor..
I did the EXACT same thing about week #2 on cpap. I was totally stressed out. My RT had said that it would ruin the unit. I picked it up...all the water had spilled out....(into the unit? I had no idea) but when I turned it back on, it was fine. Seemed fine ever since.

Re: Nosebleeds and CPAP
Thanks everyone. i'll check out the Ayr Gel and turn up the humidifier. Now that I covered the hose, hopefully I won't get the rainout thing. I'll look into the sinus rinsing as well....although I admit it makes my eyes water just thinking about it.
